Ok, this show's at its lowest point and I really, REALLY hope it can bounce back here.

The opening segment probably had more jokes packed in it than the last three episodes put together. That Street Fighter bit was hilarious.

So I was understandably cautious when I saw that this turned into yet another "Brian finds a woman" plot. When one of the main characters is actively pointing out that this has been done to death, it probably means it's time to move in another direction. That's actually the second time that's happened this season and it's a little off-putting when they have their own characters going out and saying "Yeah, we've totally done this dozens of times to the point of overkill" and then they go through with it anyway.

I can't say I cared for the main plot. I've never cared for the Brian/Quagmire feud. Brian and Quagmire both wound up looking like total douchebags. The ending gave me a little hope that they'd drop this feud, once and for all, but then we got the twist. It's a shame, because it just makes both guys seem completely unlikable.

But the jokes were honestly the best they've been in weeks and I'm ready to give this one a thumbs up for it. There's still some hope for FG.

Stewie: Hey, who was that fat chick sneaking out of here this morning?
Brian: Oh, that was someone I met from class, Bettina.
Stewie: Ooh, that's way too fancy a name for her. Her name should be "Thud" or "Oof".

And yes, I feel terrible for laughing at that, too.

I loved the Street Fighter bit too. Still...Cheryl Tiegs is, like, 63. Of course, Glenn is in his 60s, too, right? *rolls eyes*

The thing that made the Street Fighter bit so funny is they went to the trouble of matching not just the animation style of the game, but the frame-rate and voices too. It's details like that which made it really funny.

In fact; I'd say I enjoyed that cutaway more than the plot of the actual episode. I wish they'd stop trying to make Quagmire a complicated character.

I like the Brian/Quagmire feud since it as some tension between the characters. So, I enjoyed this episode as well. The racial jokes were a bit deep tonight, yet they weren't terrible. I will never be able to hear the Star Trek; TOS theme again and not think about Sulu.

Meg walking into the restaurant with Mayor West "yeah, this still happens from time to time".

Great show ...

I think it is great every time they bust out the Brian doing a dog thing bit out of nowhere. Him crying in the kitchen while Peter was yelling in the other room happens in this house every day.

My wife rolled her eyes when I laughed the loudest at this joke. She also didn't understand when I laughed at the Street Fighter gag. Still the 20 and a half minutes of silence through the rest of the episode made her question why I still watch the show.

Yeah, Street Fighter bit was awesome. I too like the Brian and Quagmire feud, so this was a solid episode for me. Any time they get away from the "how dumb can we make Peter act?" storylines, that's a positive.

That Michael J. Fox bit was something I hated myself for laughing at, but it was really, really well done. Actually showing the cutaway was a great punchline.

This was by far the best episode of the season, IMO. Not once did I feel that a joke didn't click. Though for some weird reason, for all of the great jokes (Michael Fox, Street Fighter, Peter speeding through Brooks in 'Shawshank Redemption', Adam West, etc.), the one that made me laugh most was seeing Quagmire's hairy chest in the flashbacks with Cheryl Tiegs.

Brian:"Hey, Denise... It's me... Brian... Brian Griffith."
Stewie:"Oh, Boy."

I guess Quagmire is on whatever diet Ned Flanders is on to keep looking that ripped into his 60's.

I would have preferred if it were a more straight interview (on O'Reily Factor, as Colbert being in character on Colbert Report is to be expected), but whatever. Fun for what it was.
