That game got good at the end. I had a feeling once the Packers went up 21-3 that it wasn't over and, again, they showed off that tendency of letting teams hang around in the second half. I was on the edge of my seat for that final Big Ben two-minute drill (and not just because I would have won $1,000 if it failed...which it did! Huzzah!) and the Vegas lounge I was in went insane when that 4th down pass fell incomplete.
Not enough is being made of just how utterly wretched the halftime show was. What drove me nuts was that in less than two minutes, Usher completely outdid anything the Black Eyed Peas did during the rest of the entire show. Which begs the question, why not just have USHER do the halftime show? He could put on a good show and people sure as hell like him a lot better than the BEP. But the really sad thing is, it's STILL an improvement over last year's Live Reunion at the Old Folks' Home that supposedly passed for a halftime show.

Not enough is being made of this, either! Good lord, that was a terrible botch job! The word was going around that she completely left a line out and with her anthem clocking in at 1:52, there were A LOT of upset gamblers that missed out on the "over" bet because of it. (Incidentally, the over/under was 1:54)

She started her career as a prodigious child singer performing the national anthem at sports events. Botching the song, for her, is like forgetting how to walk.

While I am, by no means, a professional musician/singer, I do perform a few times a month in a local cover band and I have, as has our other singer, the unfortunate experience of realizing halfway through a lyric that I am singing the wrong fucking line. Fortunately, in about 50 gigs, I can count the number of times that has happened on two fingers (and I have no idea if anyone but me noticed). But it happens.
Now an argument can be made that she does this for a living and has sung that national anthem enough times that her mistake is the musical equivalent of a surgeon sewing his watch into someone's abdomen, but I, at least, have a little empathy for what she might have gone through, even if her vocal style isn't... uh... my cup of tea.
Most certainly, trying to "whoo whoo-ooo whoo" her way through it was not the best choice.

Divorce, canceled tour, flop movie, botched anthem at Super Bowl. She is having a horrible year. I wouldn't stand next to her in a rainstorm.

OK, that makes her awesome in my book. Anyone who actually bets money on something like that deserves to get screwed out of it.
As for halftime, I dunno the wife and son and I though it was entertaining. No they aren't great singers, and they had audio trouble but as far as halftime shows go it was fine by me.
Game was decent, only kinda watched. Find myself less and less interested in pro football every year.
I am so glad to see the Packers win because now the enormous shadow in the shape of Brett Favre is no more as Rodgers has solidified himself one of the elite QB's in the league. Congrats GB.
I was amused watching multi-millionare Super Bowl champions being total dorks with their cell phone cameras as Staubach was making his way through them with the Lombardi trophy.
As a WCW aficionado, it makes me happy that when someone (on the biggest sports stage of the American calendar) celebrates their championship victory by breaking out a replica pro wrestling title belt, it's the Big Gold Belt they're breaking out.
Congrats to Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers, and I think it's fitting how they won the Super Bowl the year Favre retired, in a year in which Favre's team failed to make the playoffs after a promising postseason run last year.

This surprised me. The players didn't exactly have time to go run back to the locker room to get camera phones after the games, if they even brought their phones to the stadium. (Which, probably not?) Some of those had to be the friends/family phones, but an awful lot of them seemed to be Flip Cameras. Maybe some blended advertisement, handed out with the t-shirts and the hats?

In return, Rodgers was basically self-taught for all those years under Favre, is shown trust and faith by the Packers, and rewards them by outdoing Favre - Rodgers was younger than Favre when he won his only Super Bowl, out-stat'd Favre with 24-39, 304 yds, 3 tds, and was named Super Bowl MVP which Favre was not. Aaron Rodgers has the belt; FUCK YOU FAVRE!
Me being a huge Steeler fan, this cheered me up a little.
Thank you. : )

Just means those who bet the under on it cashed tickets. Maybe people she knows went heavy on the under.
It's always nice to know that you've just watched a game that will haunt you foreverish. I don't know if I'll ever find peace with Ben missing Wallace on the bomb (or Wallace missing the bomb) for the go-ahead score or with Mendenhall's fumble at the 30. Thankfully I've got a lot of accrued championship happiness so this isn't devastating or anything, but it would've been so great to bank it.
IMO turnovers are an important facet of the game of football!! But I thought all three of them were great plays by GB more than they were poor plays by Pittsburgh. The first pick Green(bay) hit R's arm, the second one was a tight throw that that dude wrestled away, and the fumble came from two guys coming free and slamming Mendenhall mendenhard.
I came out of the game more bittersweetly proud than depressed though. Packers played really well and were on the verge of a blowout, but Steelers were so resilient and were blowing them off the ball for that entire glorious third quarter. I think they were fired up after I booed the Black Eyed Peas and Slash(wrestling.com) pretty loudly in an act of defiance. IIRC GB went three-and-out-and-three-and-out at the beginning of the half and were stopped on, I think, four straight possessions? (I don't know if there were drops that aided that stretch but I remember the one bobble where the guy was in position to score a 60 yard TD.) Unfartunately Rodgers made "All The Throws" on the drives after the fumble and after the 8-pointer.
I was thinking, Do you think Jerry will ever host a WrestleMania in that building when he and the NFL kind of botched the Superbowl for plenty of fans?

What do I have TO DO to move on
I'll never watch the TV broadcast, I don't think, but I read things about how close the first INT was to being a 90-yard touchdown or what a fluke/great individual effort the second one was or guys who were open on the final failed drive and I just can't accept THE GAME OF FOOTBALL

The next season helps. The pain of losing to the Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII started to fade when the draft was talked about and then held. Training camp brings you toward a new season. Then, everyone is back at 0-0.
