In front of only 3,127 people at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, 47-year-old Evander Holyfield defeated Francois Botha by TKO to win the WBF World Heavyweight Championship.

He claims he's gonna go for the other three belts and become undisputed champion of the world, but speaking as a layman, I think that's a pipe dream. Still, good for him!

I'm surprised they got 127 people to leave their homes or hotels to watch this fight, so 3,127 is impressive. That you have a heavyweight title fight in Vegas and it is on the UNLV campus and not at a casino tells you how prestigious the WBF (I thought Vince still owned that from his IcoPro days) title is to the public at large.

That's not one of the four belts you need to be the undisputed heavyweight champion in 2010. The WBF is a second-tier organization. The guys with the recognized sanctioning body-titles are Wladimir Klitschko (IBF and WBO), Vitali Klitschko (WBC), and David Haye (WBA).

Evander's still got four belts to go.

I had this on the DVR and watched it this morning. I wasn't expecting as much action and enjoyment as I actually got from this. Great fights for the most part. So glad I discovered HDNet.
