If the Saints win the big game, they will have beaten Kurt Warner, Bret Favre, and Peyton Manning in consecutive games. That sounds like it's asking a lot.

I'm guessing the edited part was when you lost it and couldn't keep a straight face anymore. I don't blame you; the thought of detroit ever winning the super bowl cracks me up too.

I don't care about the game but I predict the number of times Peyton is proclaimed the "second coming of Jesus Christ" is no less then 200 times.

I'll just say Saints win just so Peyton can shut up.

But that halftime show is a joke.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Should be a great game, don't mind who wins, thoroughly unimpressed by the halftime offering.

I'll take the Colts to win because I have unabashed Reggie Wayne love and because Peyton really is that FN good.

The Son of the Favorite Son is standing in the way of the team's & city's destiny. Does it get any better than that ? The voodoo priests off Bourbon will be working overtime these next 12 days.

Saints will come from behind and after the game, Kim Kardashian will be chasing Reggie Bush around Landshark Stadium looking for her engagement ring......Who Dat !

When you say "it's 2 now," do you really mean "it's 4.5 to 6, depending where you're looking (bloomberg.com)?"

Pro Bowl Line is NFC minus 2. Either they got them confused, or they said the line jumped 2 points. Surprised the line opened so low. Thought the Colts would be at least a 7.5 point favorite before looking at the line, just based on the AFC dominance of the Super Bowl (though not of covering) in the past 15 years.

Did you all know that Sean Payton was a scab quarterback for the Bears in 1987?

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PaytSe20.htm

Is he the only "replacement" player to have become a head coach?

Rick Neuheisel was a scab QB for the Chargers, and I believe in the NFL he was an offensive coordinator (in addition to his trio of major college head coaching gigs.) He was poised to become the head coach of the 49ers but that all got messed up when he was overheard talking about it at an airport (by a Seattle sportswriter, who reported it), but the Niners went in a different direction when that all blew up.

EDIT: Hey, Jim Zorn started a scab game for the Buccaneers! http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/198710180tam.htm

I'll take the Saints to win since it would be the feel good story of the decade. Where as the Colts' win would be the new camera commercial of the year. I can't imagine Peyton Manning as the Greatest Quaterback of All Time talk would top Tim Teabow, the Greatest Person To Touch A Football talk during last year's college run.

Not sure who's GOING to win, especially in light of Dwight Freeney's injury, but I know who I WANT to win. For the love of God, please don't let the Saints win. Feel good story my ass. I wouldn't be able to stomach anything NFL until Super Bowl XLV, at least.

Depending on your definition..

I double checked the boxscores to be sure, but indeed it was longtime Chicago Rush (Arena league) head coach Mike Hohensee who was the starter ahead of Sean Payton on the Bears replacement squad. Payton was apparently so good that despite playing mop-up QB the first two games, he was still the backup when Hohensee came up injured and missed the final replacement game.

Excuse me???!?!?

That's exactly how I feel, only the exact opposite. If the Colts win and I have to sit through more "Peyton Manning is Jesus" (he's actually a whiny douchebag choke-artist from a silver-spoon whiny-douchebag family whom the NFL caters to, to the point of gradually changing offensive rules so Mr. Choke-Artist-Who-Puts-Up-Stats-But-Not-Wins could win) and "Jim Caldwell is the Silent Destroyer" overhyped ESPN nonsense, I quite possibly may go on an interstate killing rampage. The Saints winning is the only good thing that can come out of this Super Bowl.

Oh yeah he was a scab. There was a lot of moaning at the time that another Payton was wearing a Bears uniform while Walter wasn't there. All of the people who were on the roster were "replacement" scabs.

Funny how the 2 no votes were by owners who either named the stadium after themself or a relative. If you are complaining about not making enough money, sell the naming rights to the stadium like everyone else has done.
