So, the deal is when you first sign on with Twitter, you're given their default "anonymous" avatar until you specify an icon of your own.
Perhaps it looks familiar to you?
This is NOW the OLD one. It's being phased out in favour of this new logo, available in seven flavours (that I could find, anyway):
I'm not sure how they get doled out, or if there's even a pattern or not.
I guess the new ones are better for "brand awareness" - that is, assuming you can associate that bird with the earlier birds 'cause it DOES look a bit different. I think I liked the old one because it got across that microblogging was kinda like an old text chat - even if choosing that particular emoticon wasn't necessarily a decision you could explain right away.
In the end, it is what it always is - change. Change for change's sake? Change for the worse? Pining for the good old days for something so spankin' new as Twitter (although perhaps NOT as spankin' new two years later)?
Just throwin' it out there to see if anybody cares besides me. (Probably not!)
PS Also interesting to see that that old one was 73 pixels by 73 pixels, while all the new ones are 72x72. I wonder how they arrived at 73x73 in the first place...it seems like a weird number to use, mostly because it's prime and doesn't divide by anything so it can't scale so well. (Oddly, Twitter currently scales thumbnails to 73 pixels! I wonder if that'll change soon. I wonder if ANYBODY will notice if they DO change it - me included. The smaller versions are at least 24, which definitely divides into 72 - but not 73. Duh. I'll stop ranting on this because even *I* have stopped caring)
I tried holding down the reset from as soon as I apply power, & the lights go out regardless. *Shouldn't* be any reason it's the wrong adapter. I haven't been able to find anyplace online that tells what the specs on the adapter should be.
