It was somewhat funny before you realize that Vince McMahon still thinks Home Alone is relevant in 2009.

I agree. Leave well enough alone!

Was at this card, and good LORD, it was the hottest crowd I've been in ever. Orton was getting nuclear heat, even with the hometown cheers mixed in.

DX I thought were the pop of the night, until John Cena came out. Say what you will about Cena, people pop for him.

Overall, I was very happy with this show. Hope the next one is as great as this was.

Kudos to Freddie Prinze for taking that move, he sold it like he was shot.

Antiquated 2006 thinking. People on the Commodore 64 version of The W were saying that Hulk Hogan in the 80s wasn't a very good Hulk Hogan too.

So it's antiquated to not like Cena? Well, I still don't. I guess I am the only one now? And I was merely commenting on Oliver's post. lotjx agreed with me, why not bash him for no reason too?

I also indirectly bashed HHH with my remark about DX, why not take a shot at me over that one too?

My complaints may be antiquated, but they are that way for a reason. Because I am tired of the same old crap year in and year out on Raw. By reading most of the Raw threads the last year or so, I don't think I am alone.

While it's long since been proven that Cena rules (or "fules"), I just wanted to make my Commodore 64 W joke. In those days they were all like, "Take the belt off of Hogan! Push the Red Rooster! Four PPVs a year is too many. All the babyfaces would be better as heels. Only ten teams, ugh, WWF doesn't care about the tag division. Instead of boring ol' Jack Tunney, I wish they could bring in some of the exciting celebrities of our time as guest presidents."

'cept it was all on an 8-bit blue screen.

So, the WWE can't seem to make new stars, but then they get someone a little different like The Miz and they make him look like everyone else? The guy can't buy a win when he looks unique, but now he's going to start stringing some wins together (maybe)? I think I would rather have him lose a lot being himself than winning more looking like any random guy.

I agree that it sucks Miz now looks like everyone else. But at the same time, his prior look before didn't really make him look like a star. For some reason, I never thought that a guy that wrestled in a T-shirt or jean shorts had the look of a true main eventer. Oops, was that another Cena bash? Apologies to fans of the the Necro Butcher as well.

Not to add to the Cena-bashing or anything (but yet I will): The fact that Chris Jericho can't BUY a win against John Cena is really becoming a sick, sad joke at this point.

Good show. Santino has gone from best part of the show to incredibly annoying comic mascot in record time. This is the first time in years that anything involving HHH has been even remotely interesting. Are Dibiase and Rhodes becoming *gasp* credible wrestlers? And what is up with Shawn? I almost want to tune in next week and find out!!

So why are you still watching? I don't mean that to be trite, either. I am just curious as to why somebody continually subjects themselves to something over and over that they don't enjoy. Since Orton's been on top, I have never watched less RAW than I do now. I can't stand Orton, never have been able to, and probably never will be able to. He comes on, I generally change the channel or at least fast forward till something more interesting happens. But even given all that, I still, as a reasonable person, can concede he's worked hard for his spot, cleaned up his act off-camera, and is generally competent. The problem is most people who are against Cena won't concede the point that he is hard-working, a great representative of the company, a good-to-great worker who is usually in some of the better matches of the year, and hands down the biggest star they've got. And it's not like there's someone waiting in the wings to replace him.

Now I am not saying RAW's great. It blows. But you do reach

Weak RAW. dX getting beat down shows, perhaps, that lessons of the past may have been learned. It wasn't a Spirit Squad type burial, but at the end of the day, the best booking possible for Summerslam is dX gets beaten clean, and then Shawn turns on HHH and goes back home. Maybe they can build towards one last match between them at Survivor Series, and Shawn can channel that heeldom he had against Hogan and really tear Hunter a new ass.

But they'll probably beat Rhodes and Dibiase and then continue being lame.

Poor Gail.

This being WWE and all, Freddy Prinze Jr should have been called just Freddy Prinze, right?

Anyway, Freddie brings ACKTING CHOPZ. And buries Seth Green and Piven! For being SHORT. Even though Freddy's like 5'10". And even though both those guys are more relevant than him. Or for that matter his wife. I haven't seen either of them in anything in like ten years.

Agree on Miz now looking like everyone else. He's in good shape, but I really think long tights need to make a comeback.

I can't wait for Smackdown.

To continue the Cena/Hogan analogy, Jericho is to Cena what Savage was to Hogan.

With apologies for whizzing on thy lollipop of hope, they've been promoting the Raw tour in the UK at the end of the year as the "DX Invasion Tour" since January, so they ain't breaking them up any time soon.

Much like he could never get a win over HHH either. Crap, I did it again, didn't I?

Hogan's My Dad,
I watch because I have for 25 years, and hope, deep down, that the show will be better, or something cool will happen. I normally scan through on the DVR, but watched more of this show being a Shawn mark, hoping his return would freshen things up. I love Smackdown, as you may have seen in my posts on those threads. I keep thinking surely the same company that puts on that great show can eventually make Raw consistently watchable again. In other words, an I'm an addict.

Is it? They've had four matches of consequence, two when Jericho was leaving the company and two when Cena was returning from injury. Jericho shouldn't have won any of those. He just has no insecurities about losing, which is a good thing.

If anything, Cena has done too many clean jobs over the last two years (Orton three times, HHH, Batista, Michaels, Edge, Big Show, JBL).

I absolutely agree. His "The Game" / "Cerebral Assassin" serious character just bores me to tears.
The DX version of HHH is funny and can ad-lib on his feet and has, dare I say it, charisma.
