Pointless promo. Between last night and his "tripped on bad booking" comment from last year, Joe is doing more talking these days than wrestling. That being said, TNA could at least do something with it but from reading those spoilers it seems like they're going business as usual.
The main problem with that promo is that it's meaningless. TNA should have known better than to bring in Hall but for the big picture it has no effect. And Joe pointing out that TNA is being headlined by ex-WWE stars is pretty counter-productive. He didn't bury Hall, he buried the promotion. That's fucked up and Joe should know better.
Why not use that promo to HYPE up the match or build heat for whatever is going down later? Instead, he comes off like an indy douchebag talking about how he respects DA BOYS IN THE BACK and how HE IS WRESTLING and all those other cliches that got old in 2004.
It's shocking how Jeff Jarrett, the prince of Memphis wrestling basically, has gotten so far away from the basics of wrestling.
Instead of having Joe do that promo, have him come out say that Hall's on a bender so fuck him but he and Nash are ready to kick some ass and Showtime wanted a piece too so here he comes and then have your match. Instead Joe, a babyface, buries his babyface partner (who the Impact crowd likes) and takes the focus off the main event.
We all know that TNA doesn't understand how to promote wrestling, last night was a sad confirmation that neither does Samoa Joe.
The most mind-boggling element of the promo is that it pushed ERIC YOUNG. Of all the guys to bring out for a main-event PPV spot, they give it to him. Sure he's a homegrown TNA performer, but he's bland. At best, a comedy wrestler.
