They are not booking him as one!@ They are booking him and a HUGE giant of a man who can't be beat. He has no real wrestling moves, lousy on the mic as his english isn't really good. Think about it, Andre the Giant was the same way.
Huge guy,no wrestling moves to speak of but he was big and could pound people. English was better than Khali's but still not real good, especially when he first got started.
Now if the WWE was billing Khali as a technical wrestler I could see the problem but they are not.

Flair's supposed to be the "Dirtiest Player in the Game", and nobody knows more about turning on a partner than the Nature Boy. If there's ANYONE in the company who's not going to be shocked, and not take it laying down, it's Flair.

A lumbering giant like Andre does not work this day and age, just ask the Big Show, one of the biggest disappointments in recent memory. And one of the rare times that WCW used a guy better than WWF.

But it would work with the 5-15 yr old set who isn't obsessed with workrate and buys "Ruck Fules" T-shirts. I was 12 when the big Hogan/Andre match happened and I could have cared less that Andre couldn't move and that more than 1/2 of the match was a bearhug. For someone around that age, it was all about one guy trying to beat a huge giant of a man.
Let's put it this way: I don't think that the PPV buys will be that much better, or worse than Backlash if Judgement Day has Cena/Khali.

The problem with that is for storyline purposes (due to the Samoan Savage character), Umaga has no reason to hate Vince because he doesn't know that it was Vince's braggadocio that was the reason why he's no longer carrying around the shiny thing he had for a few months. But he does know that Lashley hit him really hard a bunch of times, so he hates him. Estrada could explain it to him to turn him face, but that's pretty manipulative for a crowd favorite.
