Indeed they do. Our convenience store still sells it, at $10.99 for a 30-pack. Also something that we carry that you may not be aware still exists is MD 20/20. When people come in and see it, their comment is invariably "I used to drink that in high school."

That reminds me of an idea I came up with when I was really bored, where I would refer to Camel Full-Flavor cigarettes as "Camelots". As opposed to the light variety, which if you say really fast, sounds like "Camelites".

I was really bored.

Same here. I never could see how people like the taste of beer. I've tried drinking beer over a 100 times when out at the bar with friends or at a party (trying to look cool and fitting in) and had to absolutely force it down everytime. Once I got married I quit trying to drink beer completely.

I've always liked drinking wine coolers and mixed drinks ("sissy drinks" according to my buddies).

What I've always couldn't figure out is how people can drink 6 to 12 cans/glasses/mugs of beer in a sitting. I'm a big guy and love drinking Coca-Cola, but I couldn't drink 6 cans of Coke if you put a gun to my head, let alone more than that. After about 4 cans my stomach is too full to drink anymore. Meanwhile I see really thin guys all the time having no problem chugging beer after beer after beer after beer.

I think the syrup in Coke makes it harder to drink as much when you compare it to beer. Also, with beer after three or four (if you are power-drinking) you don't taste it, not the case with Coke.

As far as being able to drink a LOT of beer in one evening, well, there's this thing that helps that I like to call "peeing a lot".

Beer doesn't make your teeth feel like they are going to fall out. It's more of a bitter/savory taste than a sweet/sour taste. Try eating a bag of chips and then try eating a bag of sour patch kids. What one was easier to finish?

Beer isn't served with ice, so it's immediately warmer than soda. Warmer drinks are more easily accepted by the body. A lot of beers aren't even served at normal refridgerator temperatures, but at around 50ºF.

Beer is also far less carbonated than soda. It begins with less carbonation, and because it is generally warmer, CO2 is released more quickly as it sits in the glass. Less bubbles = more room for liquid.

I'm sure the alcohol helps too.

Well, it's certainly doable with pop too. Not being able to drink beer has forced me to be a highball kind of guy, which means that (on a good night) I might drink 2-4 litres of Coke or 7up.

I just came across a mention of this movie a couple days ago and had to look it up on Wikipedia to reminisce. I think it was Ally Sheedy's first film role?

IMDB says it was a film called Bad Boys starring Sean Penn, though only by a few months (in terms of release). It also stars Clancy Brown and Alan Ruck. Hmmm, I may have to check this out....
