It really depends on the age of the audience (no offense AWA!), there is stuff that my cousin's grandkid uses that I have no idea what he means.

I hear you. I wasn't offended. I am not that much of a "meme" guy, so that's out of my mainstream. I do know YOLO. So that's not too "old manish"

My excuse is that I work in a mid-market college town, so I'm surrounded by kids who are just getting their start in TV all the time.

I'm trying to get out before my years in TV outnumber a co-worker's age.

Not one of these six are actually in a Chamber, right?

I first realized this was an all-44 presidents picture, when I recognized, of all people, MARTIN VAN BUREN.

And I'm ashamed about how long it took me to find President Obama, who in addition to being the only black face among 43 white ones, is right smack dab in the middle of the picture. (He looks rather sinister, too.)

Tied for first for me, and I use that as a compliment. Pope Benedict XVI is one of the world's foremost experts on Augustinian and Franciscan theology, I love his writings. If he wrote a commentary on Bonaventure I'd buy it thrice.

Does there come a point where an in-joke becomes so insular it's no longer recognizable a joke?

(says the guy who had signature in wingdings for years and is also in some strange critical mood so probably should be ignored)
