It looks like I've been lucky with mine...and it's been dropped more than a few times.

Of course, the thing will probably implode on December 13, one day after the warranty expires.

I just got the LG Fusic. It looks sort of like an iPod and can play MP3's. It also can broadcast the songs to an FM radio (to mixed results).

LG VX8300. Just got it about a week ago. Before that it was a Motorola V180. The company has supplied me with each, so I've never actually owned a cell phone myself.

I have a Motorola I 530. It is supplied by my company. My wife has the same basic type, except it has the color screen and the little window that shows the phone number, etc. This phone I have is the first "new" phone I have received since I have been with the company. I have been with my current employer for over 10 years and after 5 years of not even having a cell phone, all the others I got before this one were hand me downs from other employees. I like this phone fine, very sturdy. I don't spend a lot of time on the phone anyway, so I am not very fussy.

I've got a Sony W700i. I bought a bigger memory card, so it holds most of my music collection now.

I have a Samsung SPH A460. My work gave it to me. Half the time when I phone someone, they can't hear me. I had the phone replaced and the new one does the same thing. Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong, but I prefer to blame the phone.

Well, I have finally updated my cell phone, having had my 2 year agreement with Verizon run out last month. As part of agreeing to sign another 2 year plan, I got to upgrade to the Chocolate LG, the black cherry version. It's pretty sweet, since I got VCast with it and most of the other bells and whistles.

The best part is that the phone would have been 150 bucks, but they took 100 off because of my signing a new agreement, and the final 50 I can send a mail-in rebate to take care of.

Anybody else recently upgrade their phone?

I did! I bought an LG something or other that has the letters A through Z for texting. It's not a very good phone, but it included one year of photo and text messaging. That itself paid for the phone itself.

It'll do for the time being. I generally get a new phone every year.

I've seen 14 movies so far this year: Because I Said So - (2*); Borat - (5*); Children Of Men - (4*); Die Hard 4 - (5*); Evan Almighty - (3.5*); Fantastic Four 2 - (4.5*); Hairspray - (5*); Harry Potter 5 - (4*); Knocked Up - (4*); The Last Mimsy - (4*); Mr. Brooks - (4*); Shrek The Third - (3*); Spiderman 3 - (3.5*); Transformers - (2*)

The new work phone is the ALLTEL Snap by Samsung. It has a camera, so that's nice.

Two weeks ago I ditched Verizon because I was paying for 450 minutes a month and using about 100 of them. Now I'm on prepaid T-Mobile with a Nokia 2610. I like the old one better; it a built in flashlight, less stupid options, and a longer battery lufe since it was just black and white.

I used to feel as you do but being out and about alot and often not near a landline, they come in handy. However, once I hit home, it goes off. What I would never do is only have a cell phone and no landline. When the tornados and weather that affected Greensburg hit, cell phones were useless in alot of places.

And along those lines we have a cordless and corded phone. When the power goes off, the one with the cord still works.

Agreed, DrDirt. We haven't had cell phone service (Cingular) here since Sunday evening, but our trusty analog phone in the wall still made local calls all throughout the storm.

I'm still waiting for my cell service to come back

I'm switching to Verizon and I'll post the details of the new phone when I have it.

I used to have a Sony Ericsson Z520a from Cellular One in Texas. Solid phone.

Then recently, after my move to New Mexico, I switched carriers, and went with Alltel, and got the LG Wave. It's kinda like the Razr, but a lot more stylish looking. It also is music player capable. It's a bad ass phone.

My girlfriend, lovely lady that she is, purchased me a prepaid phone for Christmas. It's still in the box, sitting on her kitchen counter.

I got my first cell phone earlier this month: Samsung M300. Weird, since I probably sold about 20 RAZRs in 3 months when I worked customer service for Cingular (my department was old AT&T customers; I sold them the RAZR when I upgraded them to the Cingular service).
