We went down a dime overnight here in Des Moines (uh...I mean "Parts Unknown"). We're now at $2.99/$3.09/$3.19 depending on the grade.

I filled up last night at Costco for $3.15 for premium. The regular unleaded there was $2.94.

$40.00 to fill up a Beetle. I hope the oil companies are having a really good laugh over this.

In South Jersey, I got gas for 3.29 today. I was told during an indy wrestling show that the price was supposed to drop next week, but we'll see.

Needless to say, I only got 20 dollars worth, enough to get me to said show in Philly.

The stations near me are now at $3.40-$3.50 for 87 octane.
That's a $.80 jump since Tuesday evening.

You are all very lucky in the USA! Here in Germany the price for one liter is about € 1.45, so a gallon, in USD, would be around $5.

The last time I filled up my car I paid over 60 €. Next time it will be close to 70 €. This twice or three times per month will be pretty hard to handle.

Sweet dreams......

Back to $2.799.

It was weird seeing one of the higher-profile stations go from $3.199 to $2.799 over the course of the weekend - that's, like, FORTY CENTS. Two fifths of an entire dollar!

Then there's this...

BOSTON (Reuters) - As gasoline prices vault to well over $3 a gallon in many parts of the United States, some gas retailers are turning customers away because their pumps can't be set above $3.

About 200 gas sellers in rural Vermont own pumps too old to compute the higher prices, state authorities said on Friday, causing some to shut their pumps when prices spiked above $3 after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Now I'm JUST SO EXCITED to be spending twelve lovely days in that part of the country with my rental car (starting Friday). "I'll take the Economy car, please."

I saw one station at $3.059 here yesterday and it was the only one with over $3.00 for regular unleaded.

Down to $2.85 a gallon, but looking at crude and unleaded prices flying up on the markets with a hurricane going into the gulf again, I wouldn't be shocked if it was over $3.50 by this time next week.

$2.799, with reports that it's $2.649 in Fond du Lac, about 15 miles away.

Cost of gas from the terminal in Green Bay is about $2.45.

We are back down to $2.37, which was the "low" price of gas here before Hurricane Katrina.

On the other hand, I've managed to watch my driving enough to make a tank last a week and a half instead of the usual week.

Were at about 2.79 here in NH.
I remember right after Katrina the Cumberland Farms around the corner from my place wanted 3.89 while everyone else was about thirty cents cheaper...

Down to $2.499 (from $2.599) for a gallon this morning - it seems like all the jumps have been a dime this month...

Everyone seems to have settled down to $2.99 here in the Philly suburbs, although I see the occasional above-$3 holdout.

There was an article in the Inquirer the other day about how some Lukoil station owners are upset because Lukoil is charging them so much for gas that they have to either set their prices higher than those of surrounding stations, or lose money. Some of 'em have gone so far as to cover up their Lukoil signs and start buying gas elsewhere.

In Longview, Texas, I saw it at $2.399 at a Kroeger earlier this morning. There was line of about 20 cars waiting for gas.

Across the street, a convenient store had it for $2.899 and there were 2 cars pumping gas.

Some people just can't wait, it seems.

...and yes, this is in Canada. And no....I'm not joking. I found this on the Toronto Star website after seeing it in the newspaper.

I filled up for $2.789/gal last night. Wawa seems to have the cheapest prices. The place was JUMPING when I got there. There must have been at least 25 cars in the lot.
