Just got back from SD, where it was about the same as here - my usual Chevron was $3.91 for regular this morning. We prepaid for the full tank in the Dodge Charger we rented (which was SWEET) and it was $70.20. It sounded better when he told us it was $3.90/gal, after driving by the nearby Shell on the way to pick up the car - where it was $4.15/gal. Still, we returned the car with the gas light on, so that was still a good choice.

10L/100km or so.
God knows how people drive the V8s.
Passed stations today with $1.339 - which is about as low as the "discount" cycle gets.

Y'all don't know how lucky you are. We've just hit 1.20 per litre, which by my reckoning works out around $9 per US gallon.

Some blokes with lorries are driving around in convoys to protest it today (news.bbc.co.uk)

Course *I* would've thought there may be more effective ways to protest fuel prices. Ways that don't use fuel meaning you have to go buy more anyway, for example.

Yeah, usually around here people attempt to have a "Don't buy gas today" protest, not a "let's drive around and use gas day"

Just got back from Oregon. The highest price I paid on the whole trip was $3.93/gal (Chevron in The Dalles). Lowest I paid in Oregon was $3.74 (Costco in Wilsonville).

Most of the way in between (outside Oregon) ranged from $3.55 to $3.79.

Up to 1.26/litre today so clearly it went well!

As a nation we're not so wise at the protesting.

Our efforts invariably end up being "Passive and Fruitless" or "Ironically Counter-productive".

Our media even throw wistful glances at the French and their cuh-razy protesters. It's one of the only things we concede the French do well.

Everyplace here in Central Maine is at $3.999. Nobody seems to want to crack $4.00 first.

Not an issue here near Santa Monica, CA. The local Costco is the ONLY station that hasn't cracked $4.00 (it's sitting comfortably at $3.99), with some stations going up to $4.39!

Last I checked, the station downhill from home was $4.129, with the one across the street packing 'em in at $4.229. Could be worse, as I saw $4.499/gallon for regular, self-serve, in Stamford (up the road from Titan Towers, oddly enough).

The only saving grace is one gets a four cents discount per gallon if they pay cash at this place.

And about 5 weeks later, we're up to $3.49

And about 5 more weeks later, we're up to $3.999

About 80 cents in 3 months? Yikes.

It's around $3.799 to $3.829 at most places here in Houston, but we saw it for $4.119 in the rich part of town yesterday.

One Shell station around here has caved and gone to $4.05, but everyone else seems to be gritting their teeth and holding the line at just a hair under $4.
