World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H (C) vs Batista:
HHH by DQ. There is no way he will lose to Wrestlemania Main Events in a row. Batista dominates, the sledgehammer makes an appearance, ref bumb, sledge to the head, pedigree, pinfall. Batista gets a post match beatdown on HHH to send the folks home happy.

I really hope this doesn't happen. Remember the WM16 Main Event that everyone was anticipating the Rock finally regaining the title? That crowd was PISSED. That post-match beatdown on Stephanie didn't alleviate it that much either as far as "sending the crowd home happy."

Want to send the crowd home happy? Face has to win the title match in the Main Event.

HHH vs Batista: HHH goes down, but I don't think we see a face turn from Flair. I think what happens after Hunter drops the title is they both rebuild Evolution with help of the roster draft.

JBL vs John Cena: Cena takes the title. From that interview with Vince it sounds like he's ready to turn a page here and two big title changes is the way to go.

Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle: Shawn will win. Angle has constantly been at Michaels in this fued. It only makes sense that Shawn get the last word with a victory here, though I have a feeling Karty Jannetty may have a say in it.

Money in the Bank: I think Edge is the sensible choice here and I'd love for him to use it AFTER the title match. Though I was thinking, would there be anything stopping him (or any other winner) from using it to challenge Smackdown's champ? It'd be great to see him come after Cena right after a brutal match with JBL.

The Undertaker vs Randy Orton: Orton beats Taker, stealing the win. He spends the next year dodging Taker, maybe even putting him out a in a sneak attack 6 months before WM22. Then 2 months before it, they do the usual spokey Undertaker returns thing and they face off at 22 where Taker gets his win back in his retirement match.

Trish Stratus vs Helipad Forehead: Unfortunately, Hemme has to win her, if for only a short reign. There is no division. A Lita heel turn would be great, but again, there is no division. Perhaps they should do a double turn here. Will the fans really cheer Lita over Trish at this point once Lita is healthy enough for their feud?

The Big Show vs Akebono: It doesn't matter.

Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero: At some point Eddie has the chance to get away with pasting Rey with a chair. He decides to play fair and tosses the chair aside. Chavo comes down and argues with Eddie. He then passes the chair to Rey who busts Eddie over the head with it for the pin.

The dumbest thing they could do period in this situation is let orton take it over taker. If Rando is suposed to be out with a hurt shoulder afterwards what sense would it make for him to go over? Orton is going to be out for at least 2 months with his shoulder, when he returns he'll have a built in storyline and heat to go after taker. Let it last on again off again (ALA HHH-HBK) till WM22. THEN let orton go over.

This is a need-related issue. The bottom line is that Orton almost needs to go over here, thanks to the tepid face run and the chump-booking the last few months. If he doesn't win, there's a chance that the WWE'll have missed a major chance to make him into the star they want him to be.

As far as his shoulder goes, he can flash a doctor's note at Taker for 3 months and beyond as a goldbrick routine before Taker righteously punks him out and Orton comes back. Besides, RNN needed to return anyway.

For some reason this reminds me of the build-up for Austin/Rock II at WrestleMania X7. In a face-to-face interview two weeks before the show on Smackdown:

Q: Steve, your final thoughts about this match?

A: Without getting overly sentimental, I'll go on record as sayin' every single time I've been in the ring with the Rock, he has brought out the absolute best in Stone Cold Steve Austin. So when I roll in to the Astrodome and WrestleMania on April first? Do I wanna beat you on a personal level? Oh hell yeah, I do. But on professional level, which bleeds over into my personal existence, I need it, Rock - I need it more than anything you could ever imagine. So that's the mentality I roll into the Astrodome with, the fact that Stone Cold Steve Austin is back, and that I must beat the Rock to be the World Wrestling Federation champion once again. And there is no other way. There can be only one. There can be only one World Wrestling Federation champion. And that will be, Rock, when it's all said and done...Stone Cold Steve Austin. With all due respect.

If Orton doesn't go all-out heel at the show, I'll be disappointed...because that's the only way things can logically go following the last few weeks.

From an aesthetic standpoint, the Money in the Bank winner is not going to challenge the world title match winner immediately after their match, because the show is built around Batista vs. Hunter and that should be the closing focus of the show.

From a logic standpoint, the Money in the Bank winner is not going to challenge the world title match winner immediately after their match, because the $ITB guy is going to be in horrible shape after a ladder match against five guys and would be stupid to try and win the title here.

From a booking standpoint, the Money in the Bank winner is not going to challenge the world title match winner immediately after their match, because when you've got such a shortage of potential matches for Batista to headline with, why would you give one away immediately, at the end of a show that everyone already bought, for no reason other than to be clevah?

You make good points on all three counts and while the third one makes sense in realistic thinking, why then did they defy business sense at Wrestlemania 9 when Hogan beat Yoko after the Hart match?

Keeping in mind that I don't support the idea of the ladder match winner (say it's Edge) taking his match immediately after Batista-HHH (say Batista wins), when I first heard the idea, I pictured it like this...

While Batista is celebrating his win, complete with confetti & fireworks & all, Edge drags a ref with him to the ring, cracks Dave with a chair over the head, and makes the cover.

Logically, Edge - who is surely battered and bruised - doesn't exert much physical effort.

Aesthetically, it's a "cliffhanger." Yes, it's horribly cheap & again, I wouldn't agree with it, but I see its charm.

From a booking standpoint, IF Hunter is leaving for a while and IF there isn't enough faith yet in Dave to be the top guy, then Dave chases Edge. The feud is already made and a "real" match hasn't happened yet. Plus, it could be a reward for Edge for working the dangerous ladder match after he had no desire to work those type of matches anymore.

I have fallen in love with this scenario. Edge being a dick and beating Batista right after his huge win over HHH would be a hugely creative shock ending. Cena can win the WWE title earlier in the night so the fans end up with one face champ, at least. Hey, three world title changes in one night....new record.

I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? While thinking about that, can I ask another? My Chief of Staff Leo McGarry insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police? Here's one that's really important because we've got a lot of sports fans in this town: touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side by side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads? Think about those questions, would you? One last thing: while you may be mistaking this for your monthly meeting of the Ignorant Tight-Ass Club, in this building, when the President stands, nobody sits." --- President Jed Bartlett, The West Wing

If I remember correctly, Bischoff said that the period for using the contract started with the night after Wrestlemania and went up until Wrestlemania next year, so I don't believe this would even be an option (however foolish it would be, granted that the winner will have to go through five other men and a ladder, and probably a bunch of other things as well, just to get it).

That wouldn't preclude Edge from making this kind of challenge after Batista retains against, say, Chris Benoit at Summerslam, which is precisely the kind of scenario I had in mind (on another's suggestion).

To send everyone home happy, and to set up Hogan/Hart. Having someone beat Batista doesn't leave people happy, and the match is already set up by having the title shot. There's no need.

I wouldn't be shocked if this was April Fool's Day BS either, but, to be somewhat fair, 2 years ago "Sable Will Return Tonight at the SD Tapings" filtered out on April Fool's Day, we all presumed it to be crap, but it turned out to be true. http//the-w.com/thread.php/id=10992

Also a few years ago when the story of the Gimmick Battle Royal at WM X7 broke a few weeks before the event, there were people at the time who wondered aloud that because that WrestleMania was taking place on April 1st whether or not it was an April Fool's Day joke in advance.

But then the WWF announced the thing themselves a few days later and all was forgotten.

That's true, you need to send the fans home happy on the biggest show of the year. So why not take the swerve a different route. Have Triple H beat Batista by interfernce and cheating, the fans are furious and booing then suddenly the winner of the Money in the Bank match (either Jericho or Benoit in this scenario) comes out and demands his title match right away. THen Jericho or Benoit upsets Triple H. That way you get a big swerve and the fans go home happy. The next couple of months Batista can continue to feud with Triple H and have some kind of gimmick match to end their feud. Meanwhile whoever wins the title can feud with and lose the belt to Edge. Then Batista can get his title match against Edge at Summerslam.

It's kind of lame for an April Fools gag. But, if it is legit, does each brand have 15 guys to put in the match? Not counting the guys that already have matches on the card, that is.
