Hey everyone,

Well, I thought I would take some time out from my usualy raging to ask a serious question..uh, sort of.

When my brother and I would watch WWF PPV's there was this one guy who was ALWAYS in one of the front rows and the cameras always caught him flailing his arms and going nuts. He was always there in every city for every PPV until about maybe 1994 or so. He was a light-skinned African American guy with glasses who always wore a tank top, if you watch WrestleMania VII, after the Rockers/Haku and Barbarian opener, HBK goes directly to the guy and high-5's him. I don't think he was anyone's friend or anything, but I have always wondered who this guy was.

If anyone knows, comment on it. I hope people know who I am talking about.

Yes, most of us here know of the man you describe. He is commonly refered to as "Superfan". I belive the WWE did a feature on him on one of the old magazines a few years back. His identity is asked about every now and then all over the IWC. He's just some hardcore fan basically.

Oh ok, thanks. The guy must have had some major cash to have been able to be able to get to all those PPV's in the front row.

I still wonder who that guy is, with long stringy black hair, sunglasses, all black clothing, kinda skinny. Haven't noticed him recently, but in the late 90's he was front row for all the ECW arena shows and every WWF card from California to Maine, well, that one time they wrestled in Maine. Now that guy was hardcore!

The one in ECW has been referred to as "Faith No More Guy" and it was a rarity to not see him in the front row on all the ECW shows.

I vaguely remember that feature on Vladamir in WWF magazine. He said when he dies, he wants his ashes put in Undertaker's urn...

I remember Faith No More guy. There was also Sign Guy (Read Foley's first book) and another Guy. What was his name again?

And always hanging around hat guy (also known as Hawaiian (sp?) guy (to me at least)) was an older version of him. I'm not sure if the older guy wore a hat, but he DID rock the Hawaiian t-shirts.

I hope I'm not pulling this out of the bullcrap node of my brain, but I think I remember Vladimir was a disabled guy who had scads of money and spent most of it travelling around to all of the events.
Makes sense to me, anyway. How else could he do it?
I remember seeing him on Raw every night in the early days, right after Prime Time Wrestling changed its format.

What about the black guy that always wore a pink shirt to wrestling events...He's there at No Mercy 1999 with the Hardyz vs. Edge/Christian Ladder Match...

I loved the fact that he even got a "Where's your hat?" chant when he was getting into his seat at WrestleMania 15 (yeah, I was at that crapfest, too).

They did this feature on Confidential a while back about this one fan who constantly wears a hat and has pretty good signs ("Push Holly... off a bridge!" for example on Velocity this past week) showing up at just about every WWE event. He's the only guy I keep an eye out for... is he "Hat Man" or "Sign Guy?"

while we are on the subject of "famous fans"..how about these two:

1) tye dye guy - he or someone like him is (or was) at EVERY show known to man..

2) that guy who dresses up like Hulk Hogan. We ALL know him, how could we not. He was front row at every effing ppv dressed, moustache and all, exactly like Hogan.

I don't think it's the Hat Guy brought up earlier in this thread; that guy was almost exclusively an ECW fan (although he sometimes showed up for televised WWF/E/whatever events in Philly), and I don't recall him ever bringing signs. He seemed to prefer getting into shouting matches with heels.

The light-skinned black guy you're talking about is from the NYC area, I think. Years ago, the MSG Network in NY would have a monthly, 3-hour televised WWF event on TV and that guy was at every event each month. He usually sat there with another guy all the time, a short, heavy-set Italian-looking guy with slicked back hair. They always sat together at MSG and at a few PPV's as well. (Yeah, I know.....an Italian-looking guy with slicked-back hair in NYC....what a stretch).

Its HAWAIIAN SHIRT GUY. Not Hat Guy or Hawaiian guy. The other super fan I liked was this guy who went to a lot of ECW shows and dressed EXACTLY like Bubba Ray Dudley.

I miss the GWF.

Does anyone know where I can get the old columns for the guys who used to recap Raw and Nitro for The Shooters? Thanks.
