Just so y'all know, the action/adventure G4 show Blister was officially cancelled. Portal is also reportedly going to get canned. That is all that G4 higher-ups are saying right now.
I think TechTV has plenty of shows that can be dropped, if G4 takes over half a day of programming or so. Does anyone still watch the British version of Robot Wars? And the conspiracy and sex shows can leave as well. Again, I only worry about the X-Play vs. Judgment Day problem, as I like both shows but I'm partial to JD.
Damn you WWE for making me change my sig. I'm sure you have good enough reasons to get rid of Shannon, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Let me thus be the first to say: BRING BACK DAFFNEY!
(Edit: I am a moron and my 'u' button hates me and now I've forgetten what I was going to say.)
Having been on G4TV for a split second and having liked TechTV and having seen those wide spaces of reruns, I guess this is a good thing. But I don't think we figure out till they start doing the mergered network for a couple months and demonstrate which operating budget they're using.
There are some oh so horrible shows on G4, and a couple good ones. First of all, why the hell is Starrcade still on? I know it's well, way before my time, but what appeal does that show have now? And secondly, what is the concept behind portal? I mean really, this guy jumps in between MMORPG's and talks to NPCs? What? People who play MMORPGs don't have time to watch somebody else play them! They are busy camping some MOB right about now! But then there are some really great shows out there. I like Icons, G4.TV(although I have never watched online),Filter(although the lists are WAY OUTTA WHACK!), and I guess Judgement day is ok. I've also enjoyed this Madden tournament stuff they've been showing recently.
All in all, G4 is a great concept(which I remember reading about years ago), and has some great shows, but needs a lot of work to fill out those hours of those horrendous shows.
"Huard, gonna go back to throw the ball. Sets up, looks, throws towards the corner of the endzone...it is INTERCEPTED INTERCEPTED, THE DUCKS HAVE THE BALL! Down to the 35, the 40. Kenny Wheaton's gonna score! Kenny Wheaton is gonna score! 20, the 10, Touchdown! Kenny Wheaton on the interception, the most incredible finish to the football game!" Jerry Allen... 'Nuff Said
The title summarizes it pretty nicely, but here is a news post on IGN.com about the dissolution of THQ. As someone who's getting laid off myself in mid-April from a job I've had since November of 2000, I sympathize with all those who've lost their jobs....
