One of my favourites was The Harts Vs Shawn Micheals and Jerry 'The King' Lawlers Knights. This was great had it had wrestlings first and best family in it, and it set up the excellent Owen Hart heel turn. Shawn Micheals was great in it and he got decked out by Stu hart at one point. Bobby Heenan said something funny like "Stu used his false teeth to punch Shawn". It was funny the banter the commentators used to have about the late great Stu Hart and his wife Helen.

Since some people are talking singles matches, without a doubt the most underrated Series match ever was the 1992 Bret vs. Shawn champion vs. champion match. For a match that pretty much came about by accident it was an awesome match, one that could have had all sorts of symbolic importance had that year of Yokozuna not been thrown in there. Of course, knowing what was to come over the next five years makes it all the more interesting, but all that aside it's still a classic...and one that you really don't hear that much about (no doubt since it involved Bret beating Shawn cleanly in a high profile match).

Well, I wouldn't blame Miz Blaze if that was the case. Still, Aja Kong, WWF Woman's Champion? Oh, the possibilities....

According to Tod deKindes...
Alundra Blayze & three joshi wrestlers whose name elude me VS Bertha Faye, Aja Kong & two other joshis. The other three were Sakie Hasegawa, Chapparita ASARI (skytwister press innovator), and Kyoko Inoue (the hottest baby face in joshi at the time). Hey, I'm becoming a joshi expert!

You laugh, but this match had some uber stiff wrestling from the Japanese contingent and I swear I was legit scared of Aja Kong after viewing this match. The only lady missing in there was Bull Nakano.

Believe me, I'm not laughing. In fact if more wieners saw these women, especially Aja, their mouths would hit the carpet. Bull Nakano is a fave of mine too. I think she was starting her semi-retirement at the time (she hasn't come back since), and that's why she wasn't there. I haven't seen the Jumping Bomb Angels yet, but I will soon.

After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure...
1)I'm smarter than I was a year ago.
2)WWE isn't.
3) I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II.

Trust me, you'll enjoy them. The Jumping Bomb Angels were so far ahead of their time (at least, being in the US they were) that it's almost unbelievable. When you put them side by side in a Survivor Series match with an aging Moolah, Sherri Martel, Rockin' Robin, The Glamour Girls, and whatever handful of Moolah's trainees she decided to bring that week, they look all the more impressive.

MY TOP 5 OF ALL TIME

#5 - Dusty/DiBiase as captains; Undertaker's debut. Probably the best part was when DiBiase pinned Bret at the end, and Bret sat up going "FUCK!" That gave me another year of thinking that wrestling was a competitive sport, cause why else would Bret be so upset at losing?

#4 - Three way tie! I don't remember if the matches were all that great, but the TEAMS. First, the 1995 wildcard match, what a setup that was. Gorilla Monsoon was a tremendous WWF president. Then you've got 1989 when Warrior teamed with the Rockers and the Anvil. Come on, THE WARRIOR teaming with THE ROCKERS (andtheanvil). Awesome. And then the Bad Guys versus the Teamsters in 1994! You've got Razor, the Kid, the Bulldog... HBK, Diesel, Owen, Anvil... it's like a happy incestous mix of the Kliq and the Hart family, and you've even got Jeff Jarrett and Rikishi in there. What a tremendous piece of business.

#3 - Flair/Piper as captains. The teams were just as awesome, and the match was good too.

#2 - WWF vs. the Alliance. Finally, the imposing menace of WCW was elminated once and for all.

#1 - The Final Ultimate Match of Survival. You've got Hulk Hogan and the Warrior, what more needs to be said. That's a team right there. But then you add TITO SANTANA and all kinds of awesome things are possible. Not the least of which being the pre-match promo I was reminded of not long ago, where the Warrior talked up the power of Hulkamania, the power of Destrucity or whatever the hell, and the power of Arribaderci!

THE POWER OF ARRIBADERCHI

Then on the other side, are you ready for this. THE VISIONARIES, oh man. The single greatest Survivor Series team ever assembled. All four members survived! That was unheard of! The team was such an elite fighting force that it's truly a great shame that they weren't kept together as a Horsemen style unit. Instead of holding up 4 fingers, today we'd all be doing the Power & Glory + Slick high-five.

And if that weren't enough, they went and added Ted DiBiase. It's like when the Lakers got Malone and Payton, or if the Chiefs suddenly got Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis. The Visionaires got DiBiase. Unreal.

Then they collided in an epic encounter, and Warrior and Hogan ruled the day. The only possible thing that could have made it more powerful was if they were then forced to do battle against each other, with only one man getting to be the ultimate Survivor champion. But I suppose the strong bond formed between these two masters of the galaxy was reward enough.

What a glorious Thanksgiving tradition.

1) 3MW - They can't even work a basic tag match. 2) Crash Holly - Dull as dishwater. He's an OK worker but he can never be more then a comedy jobber. Let him go, let him work somewhere else for awhile and maybe bring him back in a couple years. 3)
