Goldberg & Chris Jericho Get Into Brawl Backstage At RAW
Posted By Ashish on 04.08.03

Two of WWE's top stars get into real fight backstage...

Goldberg and Chris Jericho got into a real fight backstage at RAW last night. The altercation took place after the show ended. The two got into a heated talk about their days in WCW, mainly how Goldberg did not want to work with Jericho because he was "too small." The talk eventually escalated to the point where both men started throwing punches at each other and rolling around on the floor. Trainers broke the fight up before either guy was hurt.

We will have more details on this as the story develops.

Wow!

And I just said in another thread that its good that Jericho could put his past feelings aside.

Either way, this CAN'T be good for Goldberg.

Did Arn Anderson attempt to break up the fight and then get involved?

I was thinking it would be Jericho getting buried for it... he's already on HHH's bad side...

True enough.... but this was Goldberg's second appearance in a WWE locker room. Surely Jericho must have some kind of seniority there....

Ha. Can't be good for Goldberg.

Let's review:

1. Gold berg's a big mutha. Jericho's relativly small.

2. Goldberg has a look, seemingly legendary status. (20 people who know I am into wrestling have asked me if "Goldberg's really back?" in the past week or so.). Jericho's a darn good worker.

3. Jericho was the first undisputed champ and since has mostly been in upper mid card feuds. Goldberg, for all his faults, has never really been midcard, except for the year of buildup in WCW.

4. Vince likes big guys. Since 1984 he's had two guys run his promotion who weren't large/huge. Counting consistant main eventers. - and I wouldn't put Jericho in that category.) Michaels and Hart.

5. Goldberg can actually move, as opposed to Steiner (if that's your comparision..) and the fans have been waiting for this one. Steiner, I don't think so.

You want my opinion: Jericho better be cool, unless he wants a stint on Heat. Goldberg is Vince's new boy, until he fails to draw, anyway.

If Jericho gets shafted even more because of this I'm gonna be mega pissed. Personally I think this speaks a lot of how adversely Goldberg is going to affect the locker room. Yeah he may be the golden boy for now, but I dunno, the fans didn't seem too excited when he was out there last night.

And just how many more weeks of stagnant ratings does that take? We're up to 2 already...

20 bucks says Jericho takes the blame for this...just like, oh, everything else that's gone wrong with the WWE since 2001.

Well I think the weinerboard needs to take it upon themselves to write a couple open letters, we don't do this enough.
1- To Goldberg, explaining how to behave in the WWE lockerroom.
2- To Jericho, letting him know not to mess with big men, Vince loves big men.
3- To Goldberg & Jericho, let them know that they need to work together else HHH will hold them both down. I know that this has never been brought up here but HHH is tied to teh bosses daughter and thats got to be the reason these two aren't feuding over the world title, and are stuck in meaningless midcard feuds.

I don't recall Goldberg ever getting into backstage brawls at WCW. And I've never heard of Jericho being a trouble-maker. I wonder what caused this-- because it had to run deeper than Goldberg refusing to squash Jericho four years ago.

Maybe Goldberg interpreted that Goldberg/ Greenberg remark as anti-Semetic?

Either way, Jericho shouldn't be bitter at Goldberg because he's done very well for himself. If anyone should be bitter at Goldberg, it's Mongo McMichaels. Who owns that Superbowl ring anyway?

Shouldn't they have been on a plane over the Atlantic ocean while doing this. Come on guys fist fight backstage is so mid-90s Hart/Michaels... Brock/Hennig (rest his soul) took it to another level on a plane over the Atlantic. These guys should have settled their differences in a scuba diving fight or a hot air balloon fight

Hopefully, Jericho did a little shucking and jiving while throwing his punches.

Didn't these two mix it up at a charity hockey game sometime last year, at Madison Square Garden? I recall hearing that that one was a work -- maybe this is too?

Ehhh...I'll beleive it when I see Jerchio doing the job for Brooklyn Brawler next week or Goldburg being forced to drop his feud with Rock to start one with Brawler. That's the only way I'll beleive it "IF" they're punished and "IF" this happened.

Whenever reports about a backstage (or airplane) fight break out, they are usually reliable, so I'd give this a fair amount of credibility.

However, I don't think this will really affect anything unless Goldberg gets into further altercations with other people, or the situation with Jericho escalates. But, hey, here's hoping!

Oy vey! I wonder if this is Goldberg's idea of a "professional" environment?

And don't even think that Jericho won't get punished for this. Looks like we know who will be jobbing at Backlash.

You know it won't be long now. May God help us all!

I don't remember who originally started that list with "The Rock's Greatest Hits" DVD being listed as Jan 20th, but I'm almost certain it's not the Rock but Mick Foley they're talking about there. As for the Taker DVD, agreed.
