i was just thinking about the band silverchair....does anyone remember them....they came out with two albums before they were big....and i liked them and then they came out with their third album in 99 and had a few hits then never did anything after that....i was wondering if anyone knew if they were still around
They're still around, and their last album was apparently kind of artsy. The lead singer is dating some incredibly hot chick that should be out of his league, but I forget who it is.
IIRC they also were sidelined for awhile because of Daniel Johns battle with anorexia, which just always seemed like an odd thing. No disrespect intended, just that you don't often hear about guys with that, even though it does exist.

For anyone who thinks that Booker will be going over HHH at Backlash, feel free to PM me about the HHH Challenge.
I don't remember ever being a Silverchair fan. However, when I was going through my CDs, I discovered that I owned the first two albums they released. I don't remember buying them. I don't remember listening to them. And I did no drugs in high school. I can't fathom where in the hell they came from.
"It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for the winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. And also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?" -----Phillip J. Fry, Futurama
a) Seether is NOT a better Nirvana ripoff, and if anyone's the new silverchair HELLOOOOO THE VINES.
b) "Diorama" came out stateside near the end of last summer and actually charted at #108 or something like that on the Billboard album chart. The one single so far from it, "The Greatest View", really went for the adult-contemporary market rather than rock radio and didn't do well at either. Plus, as said before, Daniel Johns's battles with anorexia only made things worse for the album's success, as his condition got worse right before they were scheduled to do all their promotional stuff and touring. So there.

No no no, it was terrible crippling reactive arthritis with no telling if he's ever going to fully recover, very sad. At least he's got the LUV of Natalie Imbruglia and all of her sweet L'oreal promotion money.
The new(est) album is pretty hot though. VAN DYKE PARKS.
The only thing I enjoy more than doing the crossword puzzle is actually finishing it.
Daniel is engaged to Natalie Imbruglia, he did nearly have to give it away due to reactive arthritis, but it seems it's under control now. Diorama won a couple of ARIA awards, i think including Best Album, but it is different to Neon Ballroom and Frogstomp.
Personally I like Frogstomp the best still. Old fart that I am.
"Hearts For Handlebars" becomes only the third song to spend its entire run in the top ten. Five debuts in the top ten is probably a record. And HEY this is the third anniversary of the chart. Great.
