And if you push R1 when your computer partner is in the match, he'll tag you as soon as he can get to you.

I definitely dig hitting the double team moves, but half the time the computer opponent will block my attempted tag and nail me. When I really want to just tag out, I prefer the just running over and tagging out method.

| #6 Posted on 27.12.02 1141.31 | Instant Rating: 4.95 | Other assorted questions:
- Is there an easy way to pick up a ladder? I know it's the R1 button, but it seems like I have to be in one exact spot for my character to grab it.
- I'm also having trouble grabbing the belt during a ladder match. My guy will just hold on and swing, giving my opponent time to grab hold of my legs. I guess that's the point, but what's to stop me from just dropping?
- Anyone have tips on countering moves? I've been mashing the Square button and twirling the analog stick - with minimal results.

From what I can tell, just make sure your character is standing still when you hit R1. That's been working for me.

AFAIK, you have to dangle from the belt for a bit then fall off, belt in hand. So make sure your ass-beating is enough to put the guy down for a while, then do the ladder gimmick

| #9 Posted on 27.12.02 1744.11 | The weirdest thing happened today in season mode, I was Eddie as the Undisputed champ, and our RAW team beat the SmackDown team in a elimination 6 man tables match and we won, giving Flair total control. But afterwards HBK came up and talked to me about how it was his last night and crap like that. He had actually been talking to me the past few weeks like he was on the team, but he wasn't. Then he said he wanted to "punch me once before he left". I told him he was crazy and he walked off.

| #12 Posted on 2.1.03 0856.15 | OK - I have a similar related question. During a tag match how do I get from the floor to the apron, without entering the ring - I'm assuming that I can't be tagged back into the match unless I'm on the apron, and I can't figure out how to stand there without going down to the floor or entering the ring.
Thanks,

| #13 Posted on 2.1.03 1100.01 | Thats a damned pain in the ass. You have to hit the R1 button I think (I am not entirely sure, honestly, I have not played that game since before Christmas- damned Ace COmbat 4 and MechAssualt!), but you have to be positioned PERFECTLY behind where you are supposed to be standing on the floor. I usually find it way faster to just climb in the ring and then step out at your corner...

Yeah, you have to use the D-pad towards the ring and R1. PB is right in that you have to be right near the corner post to get it done correctly. I'd say it only works for me about 25% of the time.

I don't know if it always works, but I've noticed that if I keep mashing the square button and L2 (the taunt button) you can at least throw your hands up to smack the other guy's hands away. Throwing 'x' into this mix helps get offense in. This works pretty well when they're picking you up from a severe ass-beating that's landed you on the mat, or when they just keep punching and kicking like there's no tomorrow. But it doesn't work against the Rock. He just punches and punches and punches, then drops the People's Elbow, and there's no blocking it. Stupid game kayfabe.

Still haven't won a ladder match, but I easily whipped Albert for the Undisputed Championship.
One more question - isn't it true that you can hit an R button while on the floor and pull a random weapon from underneath the ring?

| #17 Posted on 2.1.03 1514.08 | This one, I know - if you are standing on the floor, facing the ring at the center of any side and hit R1, you're character will dig under the ring and come out w/ PLUNDAH!
It is usually a sledgehammer at the front of the ring and a table at the back - I can't quite recall what the sides are though.

| #18 Posted on 2.1.03 1514.46 | Yup. It only works from the left or the right sides of the ring, pretty much at the middle. And you have to be facing the right way. You will usually get a steel chair, but I am pretty sure if your wrestler has another "weapon of choice" like Jeff Hardy's ladder, you will pull that weapon. But no matter where you are, if the ref SEES you hit someone, you get DQed. So if you want to use it, make sure the ref is out of the picture. Sneak up behind him and hit him with a grapple, or do it "on accident" and then hurry. It helps to get your weapon first and then toss it in the ring. My favorite heel tactic is still to take off the top turnbuckle pad. Then, when you wip your opponent into it, they stumble forward a tiny bit and are groggy. If you follow them in after the whip it is a cheap way to get a groggy move or a finisher off... My Bob from Accounting CAW uses that as a lead-in to his "Tazz Capture Suplex" finisher. It comes off kind of cool...

| #19 Posted on 2.1.03 1724.48 | The key to the reversal process is timing. You must anticipate the move and actually hit the square button BEFORE it occurs (ie if the animation of the move has already started, it's too late). You also have to push in a direction (at least that's my understanding from reading the documentation). So if you push left and counter, you will reverse the opponent if he is trying a left and circle move. Just pushing the square will counter simple strikes.
Weapons are generally a sledgehammer in the front, a table in the rear, and chairs from the side (though Jeff Hardy will often pull a ladder from the side). You must be centered in the middle to get these weapons, or you just end up jumping into the ring. It can sometimes be tricky. |
