Well this one looks worse than the Cena/Big Show led match. Plus Mitch and Arn will only be at rignside. This is a 4 on 4 match.

I don't care if he's the match of not, if they promise me an Arn Anderson spinebuster my purchase is set.

Is the Flair, Piper, Dusty, Slaughter tandem the first four man team in wrestling history to reach a total combined age of 200?

This is awesome. It'll be four minutes long and the old guys will do their spots and the Squad will stooge around and fly all over the place there will be elbows and eyepokes a-plenty.

Ask SEADAWG about his exciting ideas for tagteam and female units to make this a true Survivor Series!

I'm actually looking forward to this PPV. Maybe it's because there is a focus on the nostalgic Team Elimination match type or maybe it's to do with the way the matches are being announced day. Either way SS is the only other WWE PPV of 2006 (the other being ECE One Night Stand) that I've taken any interest in. 2006 has been such a terrible year for WWE fans...

In a particularly inspired moment (yeah right), I came up with DRAW AND QUARTER (and M. V. Porter).

Not that I disagree, but why sacrifice the natural order of 5 on 5 for the sake of a few bucks? I'm living in a land of confusion now with this match (after I spent hours coming to grips with the hodgepodge makeup of Cena and Show's teams). Duggan has issues with the Squad - make him the 5th team member.

Man, I'm pretty stoked for this PPV so far. Presumably the Squad vs Old Timers match is elimination rules too? I'd like to see four or five elimination style matches in total - I don't care to some degree who's in them, I'd just like to see a PPV comprised of mostly those like Survivor Series was in the past.

Arn and Mitch are just in the corners of the teams.
Well that's a relief, I'm pretty sure if Arn tries to wrestle he jumps above Angle in the deathpool ratings.

If Verne teamed with Bruiser and Crusher in the 80's, that 3 man team might have come close to hitting 200. Actually, this 4 man team is much closer to 250 than 200. In order for the universe not to implode, Flair must turn on Dusty.
I wish somehow they could have attempted to recreate the magic of the night in '99 when Arn tried to tag into a match and the crowd went delirious. One of the last truly great Nitro moments.

And if Tully hadn't have quit already, I would guess the plan was to have a semi- Horseman reunion. And you know that would pop a buyrate.

In the meantime, this PPV might attract viewers who've stayed away from WWE TV for the last couple years or more, like myself. If it's all elimination matches, count me in for the sake of nostalgia.

According to everyone's Wikipedia profiles, it's 228 combined for Flair, Piper, Slaughter & Rhodes, and 278 if you feel like adding Arn in. To put this in perspective, the combined age of the Spirit Squad is 93 (126 if you include Mitch).

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

3 Elimination matches already? Wow! I didnīt see that coming at all! When was the last Survivor Series they did so many? 1999 Iīd guess.

But itīs fine with me! I like it!

Whatīs next?

Carlito, Sandman, London & Kendrik vs.
Hardcore Holly, William Regal & Crime Tyme?

......

Just thinking:

How about a DVD full of SSs Elimination matches only? Could be fantastic:

The traditional Survivor Series match DVD:

Andre, One Man Gang, Bundy, Reed & Rude vs. Hogan, Bam Bam, Orndorff, Muraco & Patera

DiBiase, Undertaker, Rhythm & Blues vs. Dusty, Koko & Hart Foundation

Hogan, Warrior & Santana vs. Martel, Power & Glory, Warlord & DiBiase

Flair, Mountie, DiBiase & Warlord vs. Piper, Bret Hart, Virgil & Bulldog

Razor, Headshrinkers, 1-2-3 Kid & Bulldog vs. Jarrett, Diesel, Neidhart, Owen Hart & Michaels

Bulldog, Sid, Johnson & Michaels vs. Owen Hart, Yokozuna, Douglas & Razor

Rock, Jericho, Show, Kane & Undertaker vs. Austin, Angle, Shane, Booker T & RVD

Christian, Jericho, Henry, Orton & Steiner vs. Booker T, Dudleys, Michaels & RVD

Orton, Benoit, Jericho & Maven vs. Triple H, Batista, Edge & Snitsky

Orton, JBL, Batista, Mysterio & Lashley vs. Michaels, Show, Kane, Carlito & Masters

Cena, RVD, Sabu, Kane & Lashley vs. Show, Umaga, Test, MVP & Finlay

D-X, CM Punk & Hardys vs. Edge, Orton, Knox, Helms & Nitro

Booooo. Six guys on Smackdown think they're too good for teams. If they'd just team up, they'd have 3/5ths of a team. And a fun tag match is a much more enticing than

Not surprising. That one is being announced on Smackdown so I figured they use today's announcements on one of the matches announced tonight. Could definitely be another great match though.

The only thing that would make this more old-school is if the survivors advanced to the 'Ultimate Survival' match at the end of the night.

Or, a TAG TEAM/TEAM MATCH

London-Kendrick, Cryme Time, Highlanders, Sandman/Dreamer, Scotty-Funaki, the FBI
versus
Cade-Murdoch, Idol-Stevens, Terkay-Burke, Haas-Viscera, Heyman Security, Daivari-Khali

Or, Gobbledy-Gooker vs. the Boogeyman

Wow. That list of tag teams really makes me sad. Who is Heyman Security?

I only caught the last half hour (I usually Tivo the Saturday replay), but the LAX vs. Styles/Tomko was probably one of the best matches I've seen in a while. Please.. more of this.
