Some interesting choices along with some glaring omissions. Left all of the "sweethearts" home, from the looks of it.

Not all the sweethearts....Amber is inexplicably there. Not that my eyes and various other body parts are complaining.

Talk about odd casting....of the six Survivor winners, only THREE are back for All-Star? Shouldn't they be the top priorities? I was all looking forward to seeing Brian (who got a cakewalk by beating the weakest Survivor cast ever, IMO) get his ass taken to town by the likes of Richard Hatch. Perhaps Brian, Tina or Vecepia will be the question mark person, presuming that it's not the Riddler.

I have to laugh at seeing Rupert already qualifying as one of the all-time great Survivors, as he rightly should be. Hell, he might not come home...he'll be waiting on the island for the rest of them.

Also, 18 people? Isn't it supposed to be 16?

Survivor Fever also has a list up. I think it includes some rumored names too:
http://www.survivorfever.net/all_star_contestants.html

Survivor Fever and Survivor News are pretty much the most accurate Survivor sites out there (being the Survivor officianado that I am). I'm thinking Survivor News' list is all confirmed and Survivor Fever's has some rumored picks.

Seeing that Rupert and Sandra are rumored from the latest one, i'm wondering what that says about the current season. Possible final 2 maybe? Rupert is one of the coolest survivors by far.

As much as I like Amber, I think they could've put in someone else instead. Mad Dog or even Mike Skupin would've been good. Also, I thought I heard sometime back that Rudy had some medical problems that would prevent him from competing. Guess not, though.

I'm happy with most of the folks though. Tom, Lex, Rupert, Ethan, and the Robfather himself.

A lot of contestants that I love to love, and love to hate ("Hi Jerri!")...makes Survivor VIII: This Time It's For More Money look like one hell of a good show.

But then again, this season ROCKS. Go Rupert!

You'd think that Skupin would've been one of the first choices, since he's the only one never 'really' eliminated from the game. You could say the same about Paschal in Season 4, who was only eliminated due to bad luck.

Hasn't this damn show run its course yet.

If I want reality, then I'll look out a window, if I want escapism then I'll turn on the TV.

Thankfully my copy of RR2002 arrived this week from highspots.com

That is all

Let me get this straight; we're going to take a retarted show that's already stupid enough, and bring back retreads who haven't quite cashed in from previous editions back to do it again.

God I can't wait til this smoking pile gets cancelled.

So, Grimis, I shouldn't invite you to my Survivor party, then? Because I had you down to bring wine coolers and tiki torches.

What'll be entertaining about this edition is that people will already have preconceived notions about each other, and there will already be some relationships prior to going on the island.

I like the list - strong personalities and strong fan bases - love them or hate them this will be an interesting mix - the game will have to be played very differently from the way it has been before.

I'm glad that they left out Tina (who rode Colby's back to the final), Vecepia (who no one to this day knows how she got to the final) and Brian (who no one watched get to the final) - they were weak winners who wouldn't add to the mix at all.

Well, it beat Friends in the ratings last week, and probably will again tonight. So SOMEONE is watching...

And I'll leave it for Guru to correct "retarted." :)

My wife and I have watched all the Survivors. We'll watch the All-Star one, as well, but I like newbies. I don't think it will be as good as an original one.

As for retarted, I hate it when someone reuses my Pop-Tarts, too.

Sorry to disappoint you, but from what I have read on the various Survivor sites (yes, I am a geek), Tina will be the person under the question mark on the Survivor News list. From what I understand, Brian has had nothing to do with Survivor since he won, and is trying to distance himself from it (maybe to get back to his "acting" career).

I haven't seen any reason why Vecepia won't be back, other than people can barely remember she was there the first time, even with winning!

I'm pulling for Robfather to win this time. He won't, but I'm pulling for him too anyway.

It's nice o see the Jennas and Amber in there, if only for the cheap looks factor, but I can't see Amber or Jenna L as anything but cannon fodder unless, like Amber did in season 2, they latch themselves on to an alliance and ride it out until they get voted off in the last few weeks.

My pick for first boot: Richard Hatch. Out of all the guys on the show, he seemed to have the easiest time getting to the end and winning last time but he's not fooling anybody this time around. Well, except maybe Rudy. Again. Nice to see Colby on there, but I don't think he'll make it to the individual challenges this year. With this much diversity, I don't think he'll clean up like he did in Australia, but everybody will HAVE to remember that.

Wisconsin Badgers: 6-3 (A Bye Week means you can't lose.)

Minnesota Vikings: 6-2 (Unless your other team is playing piss poor this week.)

Rob's got a really good chance of going a long way because he didn't win the first time and he's not a threat to win the individual challenges. They'll probably go after the strongest ones first like Richard Hatch and Colby, ones they know they can't beat at the end.

What I would like to see for once is all the strong player get together, vote off all the floaters and weaklings then may the best man win. I really get sick of all the floaters skating through to the finals and winning because they flew under the radar.

I am already salivating for this show, if only for the fact that both Robs (my two favorite schemers) are going to be participating. And if you ask me, either none of the previous winners should be on the show, or they should all be there. I don't like just having a few of them there. It is good to see Amber going back, but where is Colleen? The Animal didn't make THAT much money. And what about Elizabeth...oh that's right, she has an Style network show and is married to Hasselback. Damn.

Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.

TS, the greatest Wiener rated 6.1554 ever to live!! Oops, I mean 5.5...4.5?? Oh, dammit! I guess Notorious FAB was right.

The "x-factor" in this show is that every cast member knows about the others, or may even socialize with others. So alliances could form well before they head out to the island. Are they e-mailing each other? Working out hand/eye signals? Who knows?

Don't forget Lis is also in the running for new co-host of The View. heh.

I'm wondering what twists they're gonna work into this one, if any. For the last 3 seasons or so, people have speculated about the "3 tribes" theory and wondering how/if it could be pulled off. They're doing an awesome job with it right now, I think and last week's ep had to be one of the best Survivor eps to date.

So even though all these people have experience in the game already, there's other aspects that still remain a mystery. Will they do the "Outcast" tribe again? What kind of tribe shake up will they do this time? Will there even be a tribe shake up? Will there even be a merge? You have to expect all of those questions will be going thru everyone's minds. And Mark Burnett loooooooves messing with the contestants, as we've seen. Unpredictability still lives in this game, that's for sure.

I agree Colleen should've been back. Kim Powers too. sheesh. She was the total package. And i'm not being biased just because she replied to an email I sent her. Really!

On a random note, I completely, totally, despise Jenna Morasca. She's hot, yeah. Ok. But I would've rather seen Mateo win that season. Hell, they should've brought him back instead. Skup, Mateo, Rupert, and Lex. Total psycho alliance.

I guess the other factor is that CBS probably wanted to save some people from Survivor All-Stars II, which is inevitable sometime down the road.

From what I understand, Brian has had nothing to do with Survivor since he won, and is trying to distance himself from it (maybe to get back to his "acting" career).

Yet another reason why Survivor V sucked. I would've even had Clay the Redneck Troll win than this clown.

Um...wha? I've watched Survivor off and on (read: when SmackDown! sucked) and don't really know what you're talking about. How'd they get booted if they weren't voted off?
