Has anyone seen Survivor 4 this season? I stopped watching Smackdown because this group has been the best so far. Everyone that is playing the game now has been watching the show and developing their own strategies. If you show any sign of leadership or stick your head up it will be cut off.

Last night was a perfect example, John thought he had a plan and was going to vote off the Maraamu members followed by the Rotu members that switched tribes. Only his cockiness during the immunity challenge cost him. Sean quickly surmised that the way that people were being elimated was the order in which they would be voted off. Sean was then able to create an alliance with the other members to vote off John.

Now the game get interesting. Sean doesn't have a strong alliance. Most people do not like him but he was able to create a temporary alliance to take out a common threat. There seems to be 3 groups. Kathy/Neleh/Paschal in one, Robert/Tammy/Zoe(who will stab anyone in the back first chance she gets), and Sean/Vecepia(not sure where true alliances lie) in the final group. The last five weeks should be interesting as the game is now wide open. Anyone has an opportunity to win the game now.

If you watch it, what are your thoughts?

My top 3 right now are Robert, Paschal, and Vesepia.

You're in a desert, walking along in the sand when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise. It's crawling towards you. You reach down and flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over. But it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.

It was clear Sean was the obvious target, and they put the buttonhook in for such a short time I didn't think poor John would get the boot.

Those four morons really should learn some math before basically giving their strategy away.

If they're smart, Sean/Vee/Kathy/Neleh/Paschal stick together and form the Final Five. I can still see Neleh/Paschal as the Final 2.

Not sure if you caught it, but Zoe voted for John, too...

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

Zoe never shows her vote to the Camera but I did see that she followed Kathy's lead - the immunity challenge was brilliant because it exposed the Rotu 4 as being arrogant and sloppy - this week should be hot as the 3 groups could really be 3-3-2 or even 4 groups at 2-2-2-2....I don't think that either V or Zoe can be trusted and I think Sean is in trouble this week because it looks be a water based immunity challenge

in a side note, I went to a charity auction over the weekend and 6 tickets for the live finale in Central Park went for $5k - my 3 person alliance bailed at $4k

I've liked this season quite a bit and last week's ep was awesome!! I certainly didn't have anything against John (except that I hate to see people get too cocky and full of themselves), but that outcome was the best thing that could have happened. It changes from everyone knowing what would likely happen (until it got down to the last 4) to not knowing what will happen this week.

I missed that Zoe voted for John too!! Wow!! If my back wasn't hurt and I had gone to the Y I would have seen it on tape and could go back and check that out, but I saw it live for once and didn't tape it. Dag!!

So would the final vote have been 6-3? If I recall correctly, they only read 8 of the votes since John's 5th vote meant he was gone anyway. Of course, I was so excited that the game had changed, I didn't pay attention to them showing the votes at the end.

Looking forward to this week.

I was so happy to see John go just because I thought the game was gonna get boring. Then I jumped for joy when Sean said "check-mate". Of course I felt kind of bad for John because he was crying. I just wish Rob was still around so him and Sean could of made it until the end.
Sean's chances are slim to none, because old guy (Paschal,sp?) and bubbly one (Nehleh, sp?) don't seem to like him.
V showed she only cares about her self by voting for Rob, Kathy still seems somewhat tight with Paschal and Nehleh, and the other three are all sitting ducks.

I'm wondering if Kathy will get a big head now and think she was the one that pulled that shift together. I was very annoyed with her the first few weeks of the show. When the tribes got split up and replaced she wasn't as annoying for awhile, but she's begun to crank it up again the past few weeks. I sincerely hope she doesn't win. Of course, I can't really say there is anyone left I really like. I guess I'd root for V since she's totally been below radar to the point of not being on screen except to pray some weeks.

Paschal could now wield some power now that John is gone. As waldo said at the beginning, anytime anyone has showed any leadership, they cut the legs out from under them. At any rate, it gets really interesting now.

Sweet Pea (Neleh) is really the person calling the shots now. She got Pappy (Paschal) to change his vote so she really holds two votes in her hands. Kathy probably has Zoe in her back pocket now after John's departure. Tammy and the General (Brooklyn Rob) are the two sitting ducks now. Sean only has V for protection so he needs an immunity challenge win this week in a real bad way.

Right now, I would say that the Final 4 will be Sweet Pea, Pappy, Kathy and Tammy (based on some key immunity wins in the next few challenges).

Dunk - I think that's a pretty good list for the Final 4, though Tammy might get thrown out with John's bathwater, so to speak.

Agree with Pieman...Tammy's days are numbered.

I'm not sure what it means, seeing as they supposedly don't get the money until AFTER the final show has aired, but Zoe just bought a $270,000 house in Falmouth, ME.

Falmouth being a suburb of Portland - $270,000 is not a very expensive abode. That would be about an average price in the area, maybe a little above. I have a friend who is a schoolteacher with a wife and three kids just plunked down $230,000 for one in the area.

Who gets the boot tonight?

I think it will be either Sean or Zoe.

Sean's alliance seems weak and everyone who has taken a position of leadership has been voted off. The alliance was more of a reaction against the arrogance of John during the immunity challenge.

Zoe reminds me of a leech. She latches onto whatever group is in power. That is a strategy that could easily backfire.
I think Kathy will push to vote her out at the first opportunity.

Zoe- Nobody likes a turncoat

OR

Tammy- The closest to John (besides Robert, but Robert really hasn't said or done much to draw attention to himself, which is smart)

Sean will go soon (Neither Neleh or Paschal care for him), but I think he's safe this week, the new alliance needs eachother to stay intact to finish off their clean-up job.

Good Calls by Waldo & Excalibur on Zoe getting the boot - it would have been Tammy if she hadn't pulled that out that 2nd immunity challenge. Tammy has the mindset and apparent athletic & mental ability to go on an immunity run similar to kelly in #1, Colby in #2 and Lex in #3. As Neleh pointed out, Zoe was probably a bigger immunity threat going forward than the General and so she had to go. Good thinking on the part of the underdog 5. The General was definitely struggling in the water part of the reward challenge and Zoe looked strong. Zoe also showed herself to be extremely two-faced and I amn sure that helped to get her the boot too. My early prediction is that Tammy gets another win next week and the general gets sent packing.

As for the show - Sean and Pappy scored big on the comedy scale during their reward - Sean's face as his balls got crushed was priceless. And Pappy getting weepy about Sean being like a son to him was unintentional comedy at it's highest.....

I miss the Robfather. I really, really do. He was easily the highlight of the show, but now that he's gone, I'm left rooting for Shawn or Sweet Pea.

Despite Rob's dismissal earlier, this is still easily teh best since season one, most of which I missed. Probably has something to do with the fact that the people don't completely suck, just mostly suck.

I miss Rob too.

Rob & Tammy's "Uh...no, we weren't in any alliance with John. John who?" spiel to Neleh & Paschal takes the cake as Biggest Suck Up Attempt in Survivor History.

Anyone else getting "Interracial Homo-Erotic" vibes during Sean & Paschal's reenactment of the classic scene in "From Here to Eternity" after winning the reward challenge? :)

After watching Thursdays episode I have to believe that Sean is being set up to win it all. Think back to the beginning where Sean was shown in a poor light. He was on Rob's side and there were times where it appeared he might be voted off. He then cobbles together a coalition and turns the tables. Now we see him as a leader and appears to be firmly in control of his own destiny. He has been with V since the beginning and now it seems as though he has a strong alliance with Pascal. As long as he does nothing stupid he should have his ticket punched to the final 3 and possibly the final 2.

As for this season as a whole:

What makes this season so great is that everyone involved has watched the show and understands how the game is played. In the first Survivor, Richard understood how the game was played far before anyone else and that was the key to his success. Now, everyone has their own strategy based upon what they have seen and heard.

This season, the game has become much more cutthroat. Notice how everyone is trying to stay under the radar? Anyone that has shown their hand or attained a leadership role has been voted off the island. As Survivor goes on it will be interesting to see how the past shows affect the actions of the current contestants. With each new season, the contestants will have one more seasons worth of information to refer back to for strategies.

IF they vote out Tammy and the General the next two weeks, it will be interesting to watch if the "underdog 5" disintigrate into the squabbling 5. That's what made last week's lovefest at the beginning so funny, is knowing that in a few weeks (our time), that could all fall apart as they will be pitted against each other once again to be the ultimate survivor.

I don't know that Sean is set up to be in the final 3, although being as althletic as he appears to be, he does stand a good chance. I agree about the players trying to learn from past seasons to develop their strategy. It's been a very good season so far, and I hope it will be a very good finale too.

Here's how I see things shaking up (and it's nice to see that I'm not the only person addicted to the suffering of the masses!):

EP 10: Tammy's IC victory streak ends at 2 and she finally gets Das Boot, 5-2. Robert whines some more, then says he's not begging to stay on the island again. Get your story straight, General.

EP 11: Robert gets the surprise IC win, leaving Love Tribe 2.0 to eat one of their own. Pappy and Neleh vote for either Sean or Vee, Sean and Vee vote for Neleh. Kathy remembers what tribe she's actually from and votes with Neleh and Paschal. Robert figgers this out and votes for Neleh, giving us our very first tie! In the end, this is where I think Sean is axed.

EP 12: Vee and Robert are stuck trying to figure out a way to break the N/P/K bloc. Robert can't save his own neck, and loses the IC and is summarily sent to sit next to the rest of the Rotu Four.

Final Four: Vecepia, Kathy, Neleh, Paschal

I still like Tammy to keep up her IC run thus making way for the General to get his torch snuffed.....Tammy will not keep the streak alive the next week and then she will get sent packing - that will leave Love Tribe 2.0 (like the moniker JF'nX) intact and will also leave Kathy in the unique position of potentially being the most powerful and most vulnerable person on the island.......though I would love to see Tammy make it to the Final 4 - it may be more fun to watch Sweet Pea, Pappy, Sean & Vee have to cannibalize one anotherto make the final two
