While I know a lot of the folks on this board are a bit beyond the loud and fast and louder and faster music thing, for anyone looking for a surprisingly decent little punk band to listen to when feeling a bit bitter I was tipped to Much The Same (muchthesame.com) and was surprised at the fact that not only did they not suck but had a couple of songs which were kinda catchy. They work themselves up into a pretty good lather and are solid live. I don't normally dig the whole punky thing, but they impressed me. So go give their best song a listen (artists.mp3s.com) and maybe even buy the album (a-frecords.com)
Heh. I dig on the fast and loud, louder and faster type of music. I've been listening mostly to the hard core bands on Jade Tree since hip hop turned into a carbon copy of the "indie rawk -> alternative" scene.
I'm checking out their stuff right now. You always gave me good recs during my first go around here at the 'Ville.
That Sun-Times article reminded me of why I always say hello to Jim DeRogatis when I see him at Metro. Though I have to say the pure nostalgia factor of seeing Simon & Garfunkel together made me forgive the rather creaky performance.
