The Tuesday night special will feature WWE’s biggest Superstars and Divas, including World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton®, Christian®, Sheamus™, Mark Henry®, Sin Cara™, Cody Rhodes™, Wade Barrett™, Daniel Bryan™, Brodus Clay™, Natalya™ and Alicia Fox™.
The special will re-air in SmackDown’s regular time slot on Friday, September 2 from 8-10PM (ET/PT).
It's Brodus ClayTM! That's huge news!
They are pretty clearly telling us this is Smackdown only, not a combined Supershow.

I find it hard to believe A SuperSmackdown Live Show would not have special guest appearances by John Cena®, Undisputed WWE Champion Alberto Del RioTM, CM Punk®, The MizTM, Divas Champion Kelly KellyTM, and of course, the Chief Operating Officer of WWE Triple HTM.

I am thinking that maybe the official start to the Fall TV line-up ie sweeps week. Yet, I always thought it was the week after Labor Day or Labor Day week or whenever they hold the Emmys.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.
Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
"Seeing if live vs. taped matters for ratings" is usually the canned response (it usually hasn't mattered in the past), although I believe it will be more like "see if the audience manages to figure out and remember that we're airing a different day" - I still give myself a 50/50 chance of rememebring, although my desire to livetweet it SHOULD help me remember to tune in...probably. Maybe.

And I was right, as per the commercial that aired during RAW. It's a dual branded live special.

Testing the waters for a move once Ultimate Fighter starts on FX on Friday nights?
I truly hope this is the real reason, no matter what the "official" reason is. It seems like a win-win for both companies, as Tuesday is a much more viewed night for TV than Friday, and UFC looks like they are doing enough gimmick things with TUF to possibly get them a big Friday night audience.
No matter what people say about the live vs taped debate, I know that I myself would be much more likely to watch or DVR Smackdown on Tuesday than on Friday (I used to DVR SD, but I stopped that about a year ago and haven't watched SD regularly since).

I laughed when I saw that sign on RAW - but the timing sucked, since Arda Ocal was taking over her duties for the week as she was on vacation.

Until I actually see the chamber in action, I will hold back any judgement. On paper, War Games seems boring as hell, but it isn't in practice. So let's try to actually SEE the thing before bashing it.
