"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball
It feels like this is Peyton's year, but the defensive team seems to always win the Super Bowl maybe because the flow of these games are always so clunky. I think it will come down to the weather. If it is nice it will be tough to stop Denver, but I'll still say Seattle 27 Denver 24.
I think this comes down to the running game given the locale, and I think Lynch gives the Seahawks the advantage there. But I am stoked for the game. The Lovely Mrs. Tracker and I picked our teams in September. She picked New England and Seattle. I picked Denver and New Orleans. Now we are a house at war.

I don't know if any matchup since has changed this, but up to the Bucs/Raiders Super Bowl, there had been nine matchups of a top three defense vs a top three offense, and the top three defense had won every time. That Bucs/Raiders Super Bowl was the first-ever No. 1 defense vs No. 1 offense matchup, and the No. 1 defense won even though Rich Gannon and those Raiders looked unstoppable all year. So I wouldn't be so quick to write off the Seahawks. I also think StaggerLee is one of very few people who didn't think that was a fun game to watch. It was certainly more enjoyable than the Patriots/Broncos game.
That said, I like the Broncos to win in a close game.
Biased of course, but I have to pick my Seahawks. Hoping for some bad weather which will theoretically jack with Peyton's mojo to help seal the deal so not prepared to predict a score just yet, just glad I get to have two weeks to hear them *have* to talk about my team!

I am so happy to see my Seahawks making the big game! Old guard vs New breed at QB. Marshawn Lynch sitting silently at media day. The team that the media has already handed the championship to vs the team that is just cannon fodder for King Peyton...I cannot friggin' wait!!!!
