Nobody? Really? Ok, I'll start it.

That was a hell of a game at the end and I was sure Arizona had pulled it off after Fitzgerald broke through for the TD. But that was a hell of a catch by Santonio Holmes and a great comeback by Big Ben. It's the kind of last-minute drive that legends are made of.

As for Warner, I find it horribly ironic that for all the Classic Warner we've seen out of him this year, it all ends on a New Warner fumble. The kind of fumble that left him a second-tier QB for the past few years. What a way to go.

Congrats to the Steelers. You're on your way to being the new NFL dynasty. Let's see if you do it again next year.

And to the Cards and their fans? Well...I don't know what to tell you. I have a feeling you won't make it this far again for a LONG time. Not with Matt Leinart as your QB.

Geez. It's not like he blew the game - if you are going to KILL the guy do it for the interception to Harrison. He got closer to pulling off the miracle than TFB and the Pats did last year.

I know this much - Kurt Warner + Super Bowl = CLASSIC. Titans-Rams, Pats-Rams, and not this.

Considering they seem to review almost anything, why they didn't have the ref go under the hood on the fumble with 5 seconds to go is shocking, especially because if the call is overturned, the Cardinals would have had the ball on the 30 due to the taking off the helmet penalty. Of course, the refs blew a taking off the helmet penalty on the Cardinals when Warner took off his helmet to argue in the 3rd quarter on a play that was eventually overturned.
That is now 3 Super Bowls where Warner has taken his team to a late touchdown to either tie or take a lead in the game, and each time his team scored to quickly. Twice, they lost the game, the other time the Titans were stopped on the 1.
Cardinals could be the team to snap the streak of Super Bowl losers not to make the playoffs the next season just due to the 'strength' of the NFC West.
After the Pick 6 to end the first half and the way the 3rd quarter went, this game seemed like it was going to be 30-7. Also, if the 3rd down pass by Pittsburgh is incomplete and there was no holding on the play, there is no doubt they take the safety rather than punting out of the end zone with a mediocre at best punter.

Presumably the official in charge of replay decided that it was clear enough that they didn't need to review it on field, but I would have liked for them to at least do that.

I find it fascinating that in the 43 years of Super Bowl history, Kurt holds the top three spots in terms of total passing yards in the big game; 414 (STL vs. TN), 377 (ARZ vs. PIT) & 365 (STL vs. NE).

That was a pretty exciting finish. I wish that AZ won, but they beat the spread, so that's good enough for me.

I suppose even Jesus lost in the end.

While Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will eventually be a top flight corner, I think people may have been sucked a bit into his hype, myself included. He was treated like the rookie he was tonight. Between that, Mike Gandy having an unbearable workload, and "The Obvious," the correct team won.

Congrats Steeler Fan.

Great game, but disappointing in the end for me. My three main thoughts:

1) He may not be Bill Goldberg, but Larry Fitzgerald is still DAMAN~! He was thrown to around 8 times by my count and ended up with 7 receptions for 100+ yards and 2 touchdowns. That's incredible. I don't give two shits what kind of defense the Steelers were playing, you HAVE to get him the ball more than that. And I'm at least 75% sure that Warner's last pass attempt was going to be a jump ball with Fitzgerald coming down with the game winner. Guess we'll never know.

2) I was super pumped to watch one of my high school friends (Ben Patrick, Cardinals #89) catch a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl. He updates his Facebook profile pretty regularly and it's been something else watching his career with sort of an insider's view - from draft day, to getting cut, to playing on the scout team, to making the main roster, to getting some major minutes after the starting TE goes down in the playoffs.

3) The 21st Century Steelers are incapable of winning a Super Bowl without terrible officiating. First the Seahawks game and now this. That first game was FAR more egregious but this game was awful in its own right. I possibly could have swallowed some of those terrible personal fouls they called throughout the game, but a blind old lady could tell you that fumble call at the end was wrong. What, is there a limit on how many overturned calls can go in one team's favor? Get the damn thing right in the first place, jeebus. If that wasn't a pass attempt then I guess I don't know anything about football.

Sorry, but his arm wasn't going forward. Just because it came forward after the ball was out doesn't mean it was an incomplete pass. The call was correct, just like the call was correct when the officials ruled that Warner's arm was going forward earlier in the game when the ball was knocked loose. The Steelers won because they moved the ball down the field quickly and efficiently and capped off the drive with an outstanding throw and catch.

The number of calls that Pittsburgh got was a big eyebrow-raising, but when they showed the replays, pretty much all of the flags against Arizona were with good cause. Mike Gandy was taking about a penalty per quarter trying to hold back Harrison. And the Steelers had a few big calls go against them down the stretch in the fourth quarter, too.

Great, great game. One of the five best Super Bowls ever.

Skinner: Well, I was wrong. The lizards are a godsend.
Lisa: But isn't that a bit short-sighted? What happens when we're overrun by lizards?
Skinner: No problem. We simply release wave after wave of Chinese needle snakes. They'll wipe out the lizards.
Lisa: But aren't the snakes even worse?
Skinner: Yes, but we're prepared for that. We've lined up a fabulous type of gorilla that thrives on snake meat.
Lisa: But then we're stuck with gorillas!
Skinner: No, that's the beautiful part. When wintertime rolls around, the gorillas simply freeze to death!

I was pleased with this game. Very competitive, but just too damn many penalties. I didn't know if Big Ben had it in him, but he came up huge. But, most of the credit goes to Holmes, who had a huge reception, plus the TD.
Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame? I think so, it's just too bad he will get saddled with the bad years with New York held against him.

How would you like to be Sean McHugh right now?

Sean McHugh began the season feeling safe to make the cut for the Detroit Lions. But right before the first official practice of the regular season, McHugh was cut by the Lions. The infamy got a little worse when the Lions finished 0-16.

If McHugh wasn't good enough to play for an 0-16 team, who was he good enough for? The answer came later that week, when the Steelers signed him. Now, McHugh has the ultimate revenge, with a shot at a Super Bowl ring while the Lions recover from making history.

Holmes was very deserving of the MVP. The catch in the end zone was the best I've seen in a Super Bowl, ever (Sorry, David Tyree). And the catch he made that was nullified by the safety will surely be forgotten, but that was a huge catch as well.

And yes, Ben is awesome. He showed why he's an underrated QB and much more valuable than other high-profile QBs (namely those who win 'valuable' awards). He eludes the sack just long enough to extend the play and let his receivers get open. He does this better than anyone else and never loses his composure.

I liked Mike Tomlin during the trophy presentation: "It's Steelers football - it's never pretty".

Pretty good game, in large part because of the fourth quarter. I give props to the Cards for tanking it after going down early, or after the pick 6 at the end of the half that must've just killed them. Congrats to the Steelers though, who deserved the W.

A men brother.

It's the fricking Superbowl, let them play already. If defenders aren't allowed to take a half step and bump into the QB (especially one who's a legit threat to tuck and run) they may as well not pitch up.

On balance the calls maybe favoured the Steelers, but the officials just had a sucky game IMO. If players ain't looking to gain an advantage for their team or injure another player then can't we just try and let them get on with it? Please?

The Madden Cover Jinx may grab the headlines but the Superbowl Loser Jinx is every bit as vicious.

Seriously, we're talking about a jinx that took one look at the invincible 19 and......um, 18-1 Patriots and just crushed them this season. Even after realising that taking out one of TFB's knees wouldn't be enough it STILL wasn't done, and set about anihalting the rest of the Pats roster.

The knife was even twisted further by giving them belief until the last day of the season when their division title was lost to the Miami Dolphins, who one as many games as the Pats lost last year.

Compared to that, finding a way to make the Seahawks competitive in 2010 should be a breeze.

The ticky-tack roughing the passer call against Arizona was simply wrong. Harrison's throat punch, however, is inexcusable. Madden had it right: He should have been chucked. But what a play he made to end the first half.

If the Cardinals don't make it back, it's solely because last night they showed they can't tackle. The Cardinals defense was horrendous at times, and I'm talking sheer lack of fundamental football. Even on one special teams play I saw a wedge buster jump and spin, hitting a guy with his back. They have some great speed on the defensive side of the ball, but what good is that if once you make it to the ball carrier you're as useful as a teddy bear? That, and the fact that Pittsburgh totally dominated in terms of time of possession, which means the Cards D couldn't get a stop.

The roughing the passer call that everybody says should have been a no call should have and was called correctly. Getting down to the nitty gritty, the defender did have momentum carrying him into Roethlisberger, but the additional forearm movement on the bump, or a 'shove' if you will, is what made the call bearable. The Harrison penalty was rediculous on his behalf.

And the only reason the last play was not reviewed was due to overrun constraints. TV dictates how NFL games are played; if you've ever been to an NFL game and sat there as both teams just stood around for no reason it's not because of anything to do with the game, just an add break.

On that note, see you all next year in the Pick 'Em league.
