Has there EVER been an instance in pro wrestling where bringing in a fictional character and treating him as a real life person has ever made for a memorable (in the GOOD sense) segment?
I mean, look at some of the "prime" examples the former Big Two have given us over the years :
RoboCop saving Sting from a Four Horsemen beatdown ...
Arli$$ (aka Robert Wuhl) doing commentary alongside Schiavone and Heenan on Nitro while acting like a real-life sports agent ...
Chucky of "Child's Play" fame cutting a promo with Rick Steiner ...
Shaft (in Samuel L. Jackson form) beating up Patterson and Brisco after refusing to offer Crash Holly protection ...
Now we get Steve Oedekerk and the one-boobed Asian chick ripping off Kaientai's/La Parka's gimmick with Spike Dudley in one of the most cringe-inducing moments in HEAT history (and this is a show that has featured "The Germ" in skits on several occasions) ...
Oh well, I'm pretty much willing to forgive Oedekerk for this travesty ... mostly because he created this, and that makes up for all past and future transgressions!
Fear not Spike! Not only can I teach you to be an undefeatable Kung Pow master, but also allow you to pick up many, many hot chicks ... First, I will show you the gopher style. Remember to ‘go-fer’ the eyes, then retreat into your hole.
Oh, those don't count? Damn... I'm out of options. I suppose the answer is No.
---=---:---=--- [Look up a line] Wow, that belt looks like crap... I'll take it and carry it around for years and see if people can take it away from me... What? What was that? You mean even THIS belt doesn't matter! What? I'm insulted! Get away from me you... you... defiler!
Hey, at least when Jason Hervey was there, he didn't claim that his name was Wayne Arnold and that he was going to challenge Kevin to a "noogie" match with Winnie's managerial services on the line ...

Well...they probably made some money off some of these. Maybe.
