WWE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH John Cena (C) VS Brock Lesnar Cena pulls it out against the odds.
Main Event Stephanie McMahon VS One of the Bellas Stepho. Because it's best for business
Lumberjack Match Seth Rollins VS Dean Ambrose Ambrose. Because Seth is not a name.
Roman Reigns VS Randy Orton Roman wins and fires off many smouldering looks
Flag Match Jack Swagger VS Rusev Rusev
Intercontinental Championship Match The Miz (C) VS Dolph Ziggler This is still a thing? The Miz channels his inner Pat Patterson and wins whilst holding the tights.
Divas Championship Match AJ Lee (C) VS Paige Two ladies matches on the same card? Must have been a while since that last happended on PPV. AJ retains because the other match is more important and we don't want to confuse the crowd.
John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar, WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Logic says John boy is a stand in for Bryan, so Lesnar, but John 'Fucking' Cena defies reasoning & common sense, so I predict he gets the streak rub for no apparent reason.
Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon: Brie via Nikki heel turn
Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton: Roman
Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins, Lumberjack Match: Seth
A.J. Lee vs. Paige, Divas Championship Match: Paige? (though VKM is allegedly going flaky on our Paige, that's why the question mark.
Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt: Bray
Jack Swagger vs. Rusev, Flag Match: Swagger
The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler, Intercontinental Championship Match: Miz
Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam: Cesaro
Just a little aside on the 'but what if Bryan was still healthy?'
I kinda figured they might have Orton take the clean loss at Mania, Batista cheat Bryan out of the belt at ER, Bryan gets it back at Payback, & instantly you have a much hotter & more interesting title run for Bryan. But if Bryan was always going to lose to Lesnar, they were probably hesitant to trade the titles. I'd personally have Bryan hold on to the belt from Payback to Night of Champions, where he can drop the belt to a heel Reigns, you then give 'corporate' Reigns (in a mirror of Rocks 98-99 heel run that pretty much made him the man) the belt from then on till Mania where Bryan gets his belt back. Then you have Lesnar take the belt of of Bryan at SummerSlam 2015, & Reigns can dethrone Lesnar at Mania 32.
My point is, the initial plan of BryanjobstoLesnarjobstoReigns is/was a bloody good one, it was all just happening a year to soon, see?
I've been waiting for the early Shotguns to pop up on The Network. I remember really liking the concept. I don't remember a whole lot from these off the top of my head. Austin getting pissed at a rambling Terry Funk might be my favorite memory.
