Apparently, at the Long Island, NY house show last night, Ric Flair came out and gave a speech about how Long Island hasn't gotten a PPV since WM2 and how the city deserves one. He then announced that Summerslam will be there August 25.
I want to know why. Crowds at Long Island have been notoriously bad. They generally sit on their hands, making no noise and the last couple of TV shows there have had all sorts of empty seats. And yet, THIS is the venue that gets the 2nd biggest PPV of the year?
I thought I'd heard plenty of rumors about the new building in Dallas getting Summerslam. That would've made a ton more sense. Always good crowds and I've heard the new facility is awesome.

VERY TRUE. I know this from experience. That LI crowd pops for nothing.
I guess MSG and the Meadowlands were booked or something - I dunno. I would've preferred it at MSG personally.
Originally posted by N8PI bet the WWF has an ace up their sleeve: all opening themes will be performed by Long Island's very own DE LA SOUL.
That'll be cool with me...I saw them last month here in Calgary. Perhaps EPMD could help out, too...
Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"
I'm a little late. I woke up around five this morning because my 6 year old crawled into my bed and let fly with the pee like a 6 year old do. So I woke up elsewhere at 11.
