SummerSlam 2004 got ~380K, 2003 got ~450K and 2002 got ~525K. The last co-branded PPV (WrestleMania XX) got ~900K, the last Smackdown PPV (Great American Bash) got ~230K and the last RAW PPV (Vengeance) got ~225K.

LAST 3 SMACKDOWN PPVS: -Great American Bash [July] 230,000 -Judgment Day [May] 225,000 -No Way Out [February] 265,000 TOTAL: 720,000
LAST 3 RAW PPVS: -Vengeance [July] 225,000 -Bad Blood [June] 250,000 -Backlash [April] 300,000 TOTAL: 775,000
Instead of five PPVs grossing about 250,000 buys apiece (as the averages are nowadays), they get six.

This was JBL's first push towards the championship (judgement day withstanding..) which left me thinking WTF~!!!!
Or you have HHH vs Benoit and a comedy act aswell...
