This could be the stupidest news item in the history of internet wrestling reporting.

From the Torch Newsletter by way of 411:

However, the pair rejected the idea for now, noting how Michaels would not fit in with them on or off camera at this point. They argued that Michaels would have to first come in as a babyface. In addition, they don’t believe Michaels’ current look, with the cowboy hat and southern feel, would be a good mesh with the NWO.

The NWO doesn't want Shawn Michaels because of his cowboy hat and "southern feel"??? What, is his hat surgically attached to his head? Like Michaels couldn't play a "character"? Does the Torch, or 411 for that matter, even think about what they're posting? Stupid stupid stupid.

Yeah, I think he was a perfectly good fit for D-Generation X. And his DX character didn't have any southern feel whatsoever in my view.

I think that the Torch DID know what they were posting, since it was their source telling them what the other members of the nWo are thinking when confronted with the prospect of HBK joining. I would question the nWo, not the Torch or 411.

I would blame the Torch. Regardless of whether or not they were reporting what the nWo was "thinking" (however they know that), it just sounds dumb.

All this talk over someone who will probably never come back.

Blah. What stupid reasoning. Shawn played a perfect DX role... so why wouldn't he fit into the nWo? Most likely this source was something stupid that was made up off the top of someone's head.

I am the JOBBER TO THE STARS. You better remember that.

Gee that whole "southern thing" did not stop em from letting Dusty Rhodes join back in 1998.

Hmmm... Big hat, southerner... those 'issues' didn't stop Buff Bagwell from being an early and long-time member!

Kind of an off-the wall idea here, but what the hell, here goes. Wrestlings got its roots in regional promotions. What if we had regional forums? Picture the [slash] forum being divided by territories instead of topics.
