I don't know if anyone knows how to fix this, but recently I had to reinstall my copy of windows. After installing the driver for my sound card, suddenly my taskbar disappeared. It seems it is still down there (tweaking the settings sometimes shows a HINT of it that I can right click on), but nothing I do will make it come back to normal.

Any idea how to fix this?

Are you sure it's just not minimized?

Move the pointer to the bottom of the screen, and see if you get the arrow cursor.

Or, maybe you're monitor settings are off. Check your video card drivers, and try the hardware settings on your monitor.

Last think I can think of is just hitting the windows key (or ctrl + esc), and going from there.

Yeah - first thing I checked for was the Auto Hide. I HATE that feature, so I always have it turned off. But that was not the problem.

Near as I could tell, it was some conflict with my Soundblaster Driver. Don't ask me to explain it - uninstalled the driver, the taskbar returned.

Thanks for the info, though...

We have been using Vonage for some time now - 25 bucks a month, got to keep our old number. It's fine 90% of the time. If the IP is having trouble (see: Insight is hateful), then it doesn't work. But everything else is good.
