After installing the driver for my sound card, suddenly my taskbar disappeared. It seems it is still down there (tweaking the settings sometimes shows a HINT of it that I can right click on), but nothing I do will make it come back to normal. Any idea how to fix this? Or, maybe you're monitor settings are off. Check your video card drivers, and try the hardware settings on your monitor. Last think I can think of is just hitting the windows key (or ctrl + esc), and going from there.

Yeah - first thing I checked for was the Auto Hide. I HATE that feature, so I always have it turned off. But that was not the problem. Near as I could tell, it was some conflict with my Soundblaster Driver. Don't ask me to explain it - uninstalled the driver, the taskbar returned. Thanks for the info, though... Yes, Aaron, that does take me to the configuration page. The problem then becomes that it asks for the old password in order to change the password. I tried what I thought it was, but to no avail.
