I have a Dell Ultrasharp 17" monitor, and my video card is an ATI Radeon 850 XT Platinum Edition. For the past, oh, two days my computer has been acting strange. The brightness of my monitor goes way up (but everything is pretty much readable) and then my screen goes black. I turn the monitor off and then back on, and after about a second, it pops back. This seems to happen at random intervals.
The only thing I've changed is I messed with the time my screensaver comes on and the time that my monitor itself turns off. I've changed everything back to pre-two days ago, and even turned power management stuff off completely, yet my monitor seems to inexplicably turn off. The power button stays green, however, so it's not like when my computer's idle for a long time (or like when the monitor is on and the computer is off).
Anybody have a similar situation? I've checked all the wires and stuff.
EDIT (for those that give a crap): I think it's some sort of short. Every time my desk gets bumped, the monitor goes black. I've even done it with the monitor not plugged in to the video card. So anybody know of any good monitor deals at the moment?
If you can get IIS set up, OpenWiki works fairly well with an Access DB as the back end. I'd switch it over to SQL server - in fact, I did for the one that I'm running at work - but I hear the Access based one is OK for small groups.
