Ok, heres the deal. I think my computer crashed the other day. when i got home, the desktop had totally changed back to the original, and programs had dissapeared.

i then rebooted, and it was still altered. so i accepted that it had crashed. (damn roomates).

but, then i turned it off, and a few hours later, came back home and rebooted. programs returned, but still stuff missing. my desktop was returned as well.

only one thing. i have a picture of my dog for my desktop. the folder i kept that picture in is gone, but the picture is still on the desktop.

i can't find the picture or folder. any ideas?

Assuming you're using Windows XP you should be able to find your picture here:

C:\Documents and Settings\%YourAccountNameHere%\Local Settings\Application Data

Good luck!

Btw I don't think your pc crashed, one of your roomates probably messed around and did a System Restore (Restoring your computer to an earlier configuration) or something...

Make sure that you can see all hidden folders and files. You can change that in the Folder Options. The folder should show up then.
