This (sports.espn.go.com) seemed to come as a bit of a surprise. To me anyway. Injuries really caught up with him the last few years I guess, and arguably really hurt his HOF chances. Still, a heck of a quarterback in his day, and I guy I always enjoyed watching. I guess this ensures the Ravens are drafting a QB in the first couple rounds. They probably want to find themselves a servicable veteran as well though, cause I sure as heck wouldn't feel happy about Kyle Boller being the exeprienced presence under centre. Promote this thread!

It wasn't a matter IF he announced it, but WHEN he would do it and hopefully before the draft. -- 2006 Time magazine Person of the Year -- "Who would want to rent a chicken?" -- The Bowler

Being a die-hard Titans fan, it was sorta a sad day. By far, one of the toughest SOBs to ever play in the NFL. Now I can start wearing my #9 Titans jersey again.
That is a very good question. His stats and career are not really Hall of Fame worthy. However, his place in football history is cemented as the man who ushered in the era of the mobile quarterback.
