from pwinsider:
"WWE star Steve Austin was arrested today on assault charges after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, according to San Antonio, Texas station KSAT channel 12. Austin's girlfriend, who was not indentified, told police that she was pushed down during an argument in Austin's home, injuring "her hands and knees." According to the report, Austin is no longer under probation from his case with ex-wife Debra Williams. The newscast promised further details later in the evening.
Austin is scheduled to for an autograph signing tomorrow afternoon in Secaucus, New Jersey. There is no word on whether the arrest would prevent him from making the appearance."

And, with his prior history, Steve might be Thesz Pressed in his cell by his boyfriend in the near future. Also, considering the social conscience of society that is Vince McMahon, how many females will he have Austin stun this coming week on RAW? My guess is 3.

Would be nice if there were something on the KSAT website (ksat.com) to corroborate this, not that I don't have the utmost trust for the integrity of pwinsider.com.

Well, in terms of workrate, they are two very different things. In terms of the law, however, they are both easily classified as "assault." If this is true, and given that the accused is a repeat offender, he may actually be in big trouble this time, and I don't think the Texas state correctional facility he ends up in will play his entrance music when he comes into the cafeteria for his morning grits. This could be a whole new era for Austin, the orange coveralls era.

I thought it was weird yesterday when I read some interview with Goldberg, where he said it was great to be out of the "continuing soap opera which is the WWE". Somebody told me they thought that was sour grapes, but something about the way he worded it rang true.

"Steve Williams (Stone Cold Steve Austin) was involved in an alleged domestic dispute last night at his home in San Antonio which saw police come to his residence. The story was reported earlier today on KSAT in San Antonio.
Williams, 39, was not arrested, despite reports to the contrary, and is still scheduled to appear at an autograph session in New Jersey tomorrow. His 37-year-old girlfriend, who was not identified, and who he is reportedly in the process of breaking up with, called police last night. She claimed Williams had shoved her to the ground, injuring his hands and knees and she was fearing bodily injury. She indicated a willingness to press charges."

But like what was eluded to in another post, it would have been nice for them to get their shit straight before trying to damage the already tarnished name of Steve "Austin" Williams.
Who knows, maybe this girl was bitter about getting dumped and thought "hey he's got a prior domestic dispute arrest ... I'll get some revenge."
I've learned my lesson with PWInsider.

| #17 Posted on 27.3.04 0027.08 | Instant Rating: 3.28 | It's still a shame that this was actually a fairly believable story before it was revealed that PWI (and the radio station) had jumped the gun. Hey, I admit, I was willing to at least entertain the possibility that it was true, and I don't think I really had much reason to doubt it, since Austin has done it before. For the sake of everyone involved, I'm glad to hear that it isn't true. So what exactly happened? We don't know, and we may never know.
And it's true, it is lousy publicity for WWE and for wrestling in general. For every elementary school that WWE wrestlers visit to talk to kids about the dangers of drugs, for every charitable effort put forth by guys like Mick Foley and the Dudley Boys who go out of their way on occasion to reach out to kids, stories like this will grab public attention and cast a pall over the industry, whether true or not, and drag it down a notch or two in the public's esteem. Wrestling, being what it is, staged violence, will no doubt always be a magnet for scandals of this sort, and that's too bad, because the good things that emanate from the business never seem to get as much attention.

You guys are talking like PWInsider pulled this whole thing out of their ass or something. Okay, he wasn't actually arrested. What does that mean? It took like two months before they arrested him for what happened with Debra.
The somewhat more upsetting fact that he's again facing these kind of accusations hasn't changed. | Freeway

Initial disturbance was June 15, 2002, surrender was August 12, 2002, charge was November 25, 2002 of a year's probation, which ended on November 25, 2003. Conditions of the probation were "Family Violence Course & No Live Contact with Debra Williams". Both conditions were met. Not sure if this incident may possibly mar Austin's current state.
