I had really high hopes and thought the reunion with Adam McKay and C. Reilly would restore some inspiration to the Ferrell routine. But I wasn't feeling it. Not as laugh barren as Semi-Pro but still a long way away from the heady days of Anchorman and Talladega Nights. There was one brilliant scene where Derek sang in his car though.
I am a HUGE fan of John Reilly and Will Ferrell and this movie delivered on all accounts I thought. I would even rank it a bit higher than Talladega Nights. There were so many funny parts in it that the people I went with couldn't stop quoting from the movie.
Maybe I'm a bit biased, but I thought it was a excellent movie.
"Your voice is a combination of Fergie and Jesus."
I also thought that it was better than I was expecting. I loved the character of Derek and the actor that played him did a fine job. The only subplot that didn't work at all was Derek's wife being smitten with Dale.

With two episodes next week, That 70's Show is riding off into the sunset. Or limps off, having shot itself in the foot several times. Whichever you prefer. The point is that a long-time staple of my slowly-decreasing TV viewership is going away.
