(Could we get a logo please, cause I think I might go crazy over this movie...)
I really hope I'm not alone in saying that this is starting to look even more awesome then I had imagined. Yeah, it's a reboot and I know I should be hating it, but it just looks REALLY GOOD!
Simon Pegg looks kinda young there and I LOVE his line.

I was so bummed when I heard that this would be a prequel. After seeing that, I'm pretty amped up. It's a must see for me now.

I'll preface this by saying I didn't see much of the TOS. Their movies, sure. But very few of the television episodes. I'm a TNG baby, with a DS9 adolescence. My dad, however, grew up with TOS. It was his favorite show. And when I showed him this trailer? He asked why they turned Star Trek into a Vin Diesel movie.
It's not exactly a reboot, more like the creation of a parallel universe, so I can give it leeway there when it comes to plot stuff and some nonsensical logistics like building the Enterprise on Earth itself instead of in space, and such. But a car?? Where exactly are they getting gasoline for that? And do we really need Starfleet officers flashing their bras on screen? C'mon. It's like "Michael Bay presents STAR TREK! SUCK IT DOWN!"
Now, Simon Pegg? Inspired casting, his bit in the trailer was gold, and he's looking to be the bright spot in this abortion.

This sort of piques my interest, but not enough to really get excited or anything. I'll probably check it out in the theater since it'll undoubtedly be better on a big screen.
I'm having a lot of trouble separating Quinto from Sylar.

From what I understand, you are this movie's target audience ...
/I think I've watched, maybe, three episodes of Star Trek total (from any of the various incarnations) /I also think the trailer looks kinda sweet
The most hilarious thing about Tommy Dreamer is that everyone else in WWE, from Shelton Benjamin to dudes who haven't even debuted yet, has a T-shirt available. WWE doesn't even bother printing up a T-shirt for Tommy Dreamer, A MAN WHOSE GIMMICK IS WEARING A T-SHIRT WHILE WRESTLING. And why is that? Because not a god damn person would ever pay money for a Tommy Dreamer shirt. Not even his own mother. As a result he usually ends up wearing a shirt that says "WRESTLEMANIA 24" or "JUDGEMENT DAY." I think it's time for Tommy Dreamer to just print up a T-shirt that says "UPCOMING PAY PER VIEW"

Yes, I've seen Zoe Saldana and no, I don't think she's anything special.

| #13 Posted on 24.11.08 1055.42 | Instant Rating: 7.02 | At first I was a bit iffy on all the ZOMG HAWT YOUNG PEOPLE SEXORZ going on, but then I remembered Kirk doing it with a green chick every other week on the show. Let's face it, eroticism is kinda part and parcel with the series, and it shows even in those relatively tame due to 60s broadcast standards episodes.
In the end, this is only going to work if it works on its own merits. You'll never please hardcore trekkies; they've taken the original shows and twisted them around in their head until they match their own personal tastes. (I know, I've done the same. Re-watching some TNG just feels weird now.) If they can bring good writing and good acting and good direction to the table it'll be fine; if they rely too much on pure spectacle instead of substance to go with the spectacle we'll have X-Men 3. | SchippeWreck
