Star Trek Online is now free-to-play. I downloaded the game overnight and spent an hour this morning as my new Vulcan ensign repelling a Borg attack on the USS Khitomer. Time well spent.
I started playing after John Orquiola mentioned it. The only playable factions are the Federation and the Klingons (and you can only play as a member of the Klingon Empire once you get a Federation player to level 25.
People who purchased a Lifetime Subscription apparently got Liberated Borg as a race that they can play, but obviously that's no longer available. Free playable Federation races include Andorian, Bajoran, Benzite, Betazoid, Bolian, Human, Saurian, Trill, and Vulcan. The Klingon Empire includes Gorn, Klingon, Lethean, Nausicaan, and Orion.

Bah! Where's the fun if you can't be the bad guy?
I tried it out last night, and it's not bad. Not great, but then again, I never really had much patience for MMOs.
The Romulans and Dominion and the useless Voyager races could have been added as if it was a hit. I may try it, but I maybe getting KOTOR in the next few weeks.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.
