| #21 Posted on 24.1.02 1917.50 | I can imagine how horrible it is for "townies." It's certainly no pic-a-nic for the pros. Thankfully, there are rooms to hide in during show, while avoiding both the fat chicks in Klingon outfits and the temptation to pay $5 for bottled water and $10 for a pan pizza.
I did remember another funny story. My former roommate took a "day away from the con" and went to the Zoo and came back redder than Kane's outfit. Heh.
Here's a quesiton -- When, if ever, will the new ball park be built? The last time I was there (2000), they were just starting the construction (which we could see out the window of the Clarion). I know there have been all sorts of political hot potatoes about it.

That won't happen
It looks like 2004 at the earliest now.

| #23 Posted on 24.1.02 1930.11 | That sucks.
I wanted to go to the Murph again this year, to see Tony's last season, but I didn't goto the con this year.
I did, though, get to see Tony in Spring Training, along with the A's, ICHIRO and Bank One Ballpark, with my old Philly homey Schill (he's classic) on the mound.

| #24 Posted on 25.1.02 0652.13 | I'm originally from SD and now live about 2 hours north of Santa Barbara. One season? yeah right. It's cooold here right now. highs of 55 , lows in the 20's,and cloudy most days.Don't even ask about the wind. And it's going to start raining next month. I used to live in New Hampshire and hated every second I was in that Godforsaken Hell Hole. I can go the rest of my life without ever seeing snow again.
As far as ski slopes, the nearest ones to SD are a mere 3hours away at BigBearLake. the nearest ones to me are also about 3 hours away, near Fresno. The Sierras (especially near Tahoe) are always snowy and host a veritable cornucopia of ski lodges.
My brother lives in Clairmont and that's where I stay when there. I grew up in SouthEast and EastSan Diego ( I went to Hoover High) and while I like to visit, I don't know if I really want to live there again. Besides, there is too much going on (music especially) that I can't aford to do that i feel that I would be missing out on alot of things I'd like to do. Out of sight, out of mind i suppose.
