I was just hoping to find a listing under "Guru". While I *thought* it was Aaron, I really didn't care whether or not I actually found anything. That would start sounding like a storyline or something

Was it right next to a Carrows?
I work about .5 mile from there... if thats the same place. It's right across the street from Di Chan - the best Thai food in San Diego.
(Also, Comickaze, the best comic shop in San Diego)

It was neat watching the locals watch us Wisconsites when we jumped into the outdoor pool. Damn, it was cold, but I was swimming (outdoors) and golfing in January for the first time in my life!

Although I can swim right now if I want ....I just have to go home we have an indoor pool!  (OF course home is 5 hours away right now so it's really not whenever I want too anymore)

I don't know how YOU do it! I have been REALLY thrown off this year in what's being called a mild winter (temperature has dropped to -18 celcius just once and it was actually plus 5 today!) to the point where the normal "winter depression" that reportedly sets in (though I've never really noticed it before in me) hasn't seemed to hit alot of people I know.
Or maybe it's because I'm no longer in college and the stress level is alot less...stressful?
While I bitch and moan about the cold and snow often enough, I doubt I could live without it at this point. I won't take a vacation to the south in the winter time for the sole reason I know it's going to completely confuse the hell out of my system.

A place where it is always sunny? It was my dream to escape the snow, but I missed it. I missed fall even more. I guess I'm just east coast all the way.
I also missed being able to function without a car. What is it with places down south and out west where everything is sprawled out all over the place? Okay, rant off.

Buffalo got 6 inches of snow that day.

You have the ocean in the summer, the slopes in the winter, colored leaves in the fall (for us old folks) and of course, mud season in spring. Who could ask for anything more?

I'm actually jealous of Buffalo. They've gotten buckets of snow and we've only gotten one substantial snowfall, which in the old NYC tradition instantly turned into charcoal slush.

And yes, having a job that lets you have access to the server room is a big advantage.

Here are my SD anecdotes.
The first year I went out to SD for Comic-con (which I think was 1998), I was in the mall downtown (whose name escapes, but the one that was designed by Escher) and saw they had a huge dinosaur exhibit and the huge models were all built out of sand.
All I could think was "Wow. They are so confident that they won't get rain they can build giant sand dinosaurs outside and have no fear of them being washed away."
Of course, two years later, it rained three days of the convention and that was all people could talk about. "I can't believe I'm in San Diego and it's raining."
Most importantly, I got to see Tony Gwynn get a hit off Greg Maddux at the Murph.
Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family...Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance...Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit crushing game shows, stuffing junk food into your mouth...Choose a future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that?
