I'm starting to compose my Christmas list and I've decided to buy a game for my X Box which is collecting dust. I'm just a bit curios if any of the weinerville residents have played Splinter Cell and tell me if its worth it.

Also no suggesting of "live" games as I don't have broadband if you have anything better.

PS-I'm also asking for a Gamecube and Mario Sunshine(posted so I wouldn't be console bashed like all other boards I've been on)

Mattitude(ma't-e-toodeh'): Mattitude, is something that can not be taught or learned. Mattitude is something that burns within. In the ring, Mattitude is the intangible, the x-factor, that gives Matt Hardy Ver.1 an advantage over everyone else.

I couldn't really get into Mario Sunshine. You may want to rent it first. I'm glad I did - it's not my kind of game. The controls for the water cannon are really not so good.

Your analogy is similar to:

"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?"
"I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?"
"They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"

-- my new favorite quote from Slashdot comments.

Splinter Cell is very good from what I've seen and VERY hard. Unlike MGS where you can alternate between carnage and stealth, you MUST use stealth here.

Other good games include: Halo (duh), Sega GT 2002 (nearly as good as GT: 3), Deathrow, JSRF, Buffy and Morrowind. I'm not factoring in non-system exclusives, but I can't imagine THPS 4 playing that much differently with an S-controller. Isn't it nice that my X-box came with 2 of those games?

Aren't they selling this as a package deal for Christmas? If so, it wouldn't really be a big deal whether or not it was worth buying, as it'd be almost free anyway.

Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)

Vikings (3-9) - Michael Vick is the sweet sweet dagger that stabs into my heart...
Badgers (7-6) - Being from Minnesota, qualifying for a bowl, winning at home. Oh, sweet victory.
Buffy 7.9 Earns 8 points. The plot for this season is awesome. I want to have Joss Whedon's children. Well...Not really, but the plot IS awesome. (Should I be waiting for the Marti Noxon sledgehammer of plot screwjob at the end?)

It's a while off, but check out info for Fable. It looks amazing and a half.

I have Splinter Cell. Highly recommend it. It looks great, the controls are easy to learn, and best of all it is fun. It is a stealth game but not really like Metal Gear Solid 2. Much less emphasis on cut scenes (which aren't very good in Splinter Cell) and more empahsis on playing around with the gadgets you get. There is a good balance between mission types; in some you can silently kill whoever you want in others you can't kill anyone. It is challenging also, and parts of the game have taken some trial and error. It's not open ended, but there are multiple ways to complete the differnt tasks you have to do.

Anyway it's good. If you don't have Xbox live, it's probably the best you can do for the system this Christmas.

Everything is going to be just fine.

I notice Mr. Matisic did not post the XBOX 360 burns your house down story, hmmm! I think they're going to end up finishing it up, because they've spent too much money/time on it not to do it. Even if they end up disavowing it within six months.
