The idea is for him to mentor a teenage kid in great power leading to great responsibility. But the kid's names suck. His name is Andrew Maguire, as in Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, the cinematic Spider-Men mashed up. But I especially hate his code name, Alpha.
Alpha's a dumb name for Spider-Man sidekick. It should be Webster.

Personally, I'd rather try and be Iron Man's sidekick, just for a shot at Tony Stark's luxurious liquor cabinet.

Avengers Academy has young heroes, Runaways are still out there presumably, the Fantastic Four has a whole class of sidekicks, and Wolverine & The X-Men is all about teaching young mutants. Is Gravity still out there? Frog-Boy?

as long it's not tied into Onslaught Alpha and Omega. Or Alpha Flight and Omega Flight.
