WOW. Just wow.
Big Vito was blowing some security dude!! And Finn saw him by mistake!!
OMG!! I was FLOORED. Then he invited Finn to a baseball game. Finn to Meadow: "He wants to kill me." Meadow: "That's ridiculous." Finn: "Okay, so maybe he wants to fuck me and THEN kill me!"
then
Tony admits that the reason he never made it to the pinch with Little Tony is that he had had a panic attack after an argument with Livia. Tony (to Dr. Melfi): "What was I supposed to Say?!?! That I got into a argument with my mother and I FAINTED?!?!"
AND
Tony also lies to Jonny Sac to cover for little Tony. DIZZAM.
Oh yeah, and Christopher is getting jealous of Little Tony's attention from Big Tony. Looks like TROUBLE.
This episode laid the groundwork for SO many storyline possibilites that it wasn't even funny. I'm anxious to see how this clears up (or doesn't).
Anyone else catch this?

| #2 Posted on 3.5.04 0838.07 | Instant Rating: 4.23 | The show just gets better and better with each episode this season. It hasn't been as action heavy as past seasons, but the character development has been tremendous. They've reached that stage where all of the main characters have been established, so now they can get to work in developing them and expanding them. The work with Tony and Carmela in particular has been great (I hate Carmela more with each passing week, the money grubbing ho). Plus, with all the build up, you just know things are going to explode soon enough.
Steve Buscemi is doing such a great job as Little Tony too. You can see his inner struggle of trying to do the right things, but he can't help but give in to his basic instincts. I keep wondering who will turn on Tony first, Little Tony or Christopher? And more screentime for Meadow only confirmed that, while she is incredibly hot, she's insanely annoying... And I wonder, since Fin's dating Meadow and now engaged to her, does he fall under Tony's protection? Would Big Vito even mess with him and possibly risk pissing off Tony? We saw how quickly Paulie's tune changed when he found out who Fin was... | Ryan_A

It's sometimes just the really subtle stuff (like when he said to Tony in one of the first episodes "You're crowdin' me" with just a certain tone) that makes the character that much cooler. At first I thought it was going to come down to Tony S. and Feech at the end of the season, but now I think it's gonna be the two Tonys.

Wow!
With his proposing, does that perhaps lead into next season being built around Meadow's wedding, with it ending with a giant shoot-out at the church or the reception? As for this episode, a good one for this season. If they hadn't gone into an engagement, the Meadow argument that never ended would have dragged down the show. How could there be a funeral without Uncle Junior though?

The Meadow stuff just bored me to death because for the past few seasons, she's always admonished Tony for being a mobster or providing her a gifted life with blood money, but this season, she's grown to be very ignorant of him and his associates. Her boyfriend is telling her what he saw and she deflects him, like it's not true. I don't know... She's turning into Carmela Jr. to me. Looking the other way, all while her pockets get fatter.
The rest of the episode was damn good. I guess I found it to be more enjoyable because AJ was in for 3 minutes.
I just felt myself going in a whole bunch of different directions because there was a lot to take in. Lines are being drawn and battles are going to be fought. I just can't wait for it to happen.
I'm with redsoxnation... a gun fight at a wedding, shades of "New Jack City" would be perfect for all this to go down. Maybe before they agreed to one more season, it would have taken place at Chris & Adriana's wedding.

My wife remarked that is about time for Meadow to sleep with the fishes. I wouldn't miss her. It was nice to see her in her panties though. Meadow is the only main female charactor to not show that body off yet. Why are you making me wait Mr. Chase?

Also, I noticed that this episode featured almost all of the regular and semi-regular characters on the show. Only Junior, Bobby and Janice seem to be left out. And nice to see Paulie back...where the hell was he?
