Is it too farfetched for me to think that John Bradshaw Layfield is some sort of bizarre spoof of the current U.S. President? The resemblance between the two seems a tad close.

I guess we know who Vinnie Mac isn't voting for in November.

Speaking of resemblances...

I'd agree with that, if I thought there were any chance Vince could be a Democrat. I'm almost certain Vince would be a Bush supporter.

On a related note, I love JBL's new stereotype conservative slant...I think they should trade Val over to Smackdown, make him Sean Morley again, and make him the first-ever wrestling libertarian. They'd make a great team once JBL's singles push dies the horrible, horrible death I think we all know it's going to.

I think the character is leaning more towards a JR Ewing ripoff than George W. I wouldn't be surprised if his name is eventually "changed" to JB Layfield in the next few weeks. They already referred to him as JBL a few times last night.

It does seem super-unlikely for Vince to be spoofing our president, but man, it's *right there*. The way JBL looked into the camera and said, "people like me run governments." Or, even better, the way JBL won the Great American trophy even though he didn't win the popular vote.

I do kind of wonder if Bradshaw knows he's a heel, actually.

Most faces don't do bits where they offer a fan money, and then screw the fan out of the money, so I'm pretty sure he knows.

Note to Bradshaw... consider buying your next hat one size smaller.

Seriously, it looks like with a little nudge he could fit his whole head inside that thing. It's supposed to go on TOP of your head, dude!

Alos, I was watching Fox and Friends today and a lady named Meredith who I believe works for Fox said that John 'Bradshaw' Layfield asked for here hand in marriage about 2 and a half weeks ago. No wedding date was said.

Did she really call him John "Bradshaw" Layfield? Because that is awesome. Or maybe that's just what he's always called on Fox, I don't know. Also, if Bradshaw wants to keep his incredible American fortune he might want to hold back on more marriages. Even if his portfolio really did beat the market seven out of the last seven years.

Well she said someone proposed to her about two and a half weeks ago and the guy that was interviewing her said I think it's someone we know here at Fox and she hesitated for a second and after a mild grilling said it was John Layfield to which the guy said John 'Bradshaw' Layfield the pro wrestler and Fox News regular.

Someone send a copy of this post to the Undertaker. His whole return at WM was ruined for me when he walked out in that enormous hat.

Remember the 'Smackdown your vote' campaign in 2000? It was all about "make your voice be heard" before the last RAW before the election and Lawler let loose some idiot comment about Gore and Lieberman being just like the Right to Censor and JR didn't correct him about it. While the comment was technically true, it did indeed show WWE's conservative bias.

Actually, if I remember that exchange correctly, JR flipped the hell out because the WWF had been trying very hard to run a completely non-partisan voting drive and that was the first time anyone had said anything that was anything like an endorsement of either candidate. I can't remember what he said exactly, but he was clearly legitimately pissed off.

""[The word] liberal derives from the Latin 'liberalis' - of freedom, befitting the free. Synonyms are progressive, broad-minded, unprejudiced and generous; while antonyms include reactionary, narrow-minded, intolerant and stingy. Accordingly, a political liberal is an open-minded person who considers all the arguments before drawing conclusions. A conservative, on the other hand, clings to one position and sees no reason to entertain diverse viewpoints because he already has his mind made up. Are mainstream media 'liberal'? I certainly hope so."

I really wish I knew "I'm Gonna Get You, Sucka!" a little better, so I could make a clever reference to it about big hats.

JBL is the stereotypical Texas millionaire, ala JR Ewing. Whether or not the president actually fits that stereotype is more of a socio-political matter. He does, but I still don't like talking about it.

I'm just glad Brock's gone and isn't feuding with John "Bradshaw" Layfield. Can you imagine those promos? Brock: 'John "Bradshaw" Layfield...you're not facing just anyone. You're facing I, the real big thing Brock Lesnar, John "Bradshaw" Layfield. And when you face Brock Lesnar, John "Bradshaw" Layfield, someone has to win and someone has to lose John "Bradshaw" Layfield. And between the two of us, John "Bradshaw" Layfield, if someone has to win and someone has to lose, take a guess if it'll be Brock Lesnar or John "Bradshaw" Layfield, John "Bradshaw" Layfield. Because it won't. I'll tell you what Brock Lesnar thinks, John "Bradshaw" Layfield...He thinks John "Bradshaw" Layfield is nothing compared to Brock Lesnar."

I'd tell you to kiss my ass, but I don't want to get it infected.

I think many need to give Bradshaw a break. I know it's not saying much, but even the most cynical fan has to understand he is being put into a very difficult situation. He has never done this character, or had the experience to deliver lenghty promo's. He is headlining a PPV, and this is the by far the greatest run JBL will EVER have. Imagine the pressure he must be under. His push has been incredibly huge by normal standards, and I think, even if it's just a little bit, he is improving weekly and the rating's show it. The fans actually think it an interesting character. Dave Meltzer's latest Wrestling Observer States that when Bradshaw was on Smackdown 04-01-04, the viewership increased by 269,000. Vince isnt a complete moron, he is good at his craft for a reason and he see's that Bradshaw has something to offer, so why not just let this ride out until the PPV comes, and then evaluate his push, rather than crap on it from the get go.

Because it's Bradshaw, and Bradshaw should in no way shape or form be a main event heel right now. Maybe in a few months if his character gets over enough, but right now WWE is just pushing out JBL segment after JBL segment in a hard sell to get him over in time for Judgment Day. He hasn't even wrestled since his character change. Sure it may be "fresh," sure it may be "entertaining," but you could make that argument for a lot of wrestlers.
