Not sure if I missed it on this board, but no one seems intrigued about the Rock's house show surprise appearance last weekend. For those that missed the report, he came in to make the save in the BookDust/JeriChristian match and did the Spinaroonie with Book. Reportedly, he also got the massive "face reaction". Granted, it was an Anaheim house show, so it wasn't completely earth-shattering. Still, I thought more people would be happy, or pissed, or excited for his return, or SOMETHING! Is he that far off our radar that we don't care anymore?
(Again, my apologies if I missed an earlier thread about this)

The WWE could put on 2 hours of Kevin Kelly sitting on the toilet reading a phone book, and I'd still watch next week.

I think everyone pretty much feels like that was just a one-time thing due to him being in the area. I'm sure the minute it looks like Rock will be back on tv on a regular basis that the board will be hopping about it. But for now, it seems like just a cool one-off thing to do at a house show, and not really able to be commented on much beyond that.

I saw the report, and like spf said, didn't really think twice about it. Although it IS a very cool thing to do, as now those with half an eye on the IWC may buy house show tickets in the hopes of another surprise like this one.

Fair enough. I just figured that there would at least be a mention about it in passing. Christ, we have about 5 new threads a week on how or when Austin will return. I figured that Rock would fall into the same category. Out of sight out of mind, I guess. Or maybe we just don't miss him as much as Austin.
I agree that it was a very cool thing to do. (on both the WWE and Rock's end) I'd be pretty damned excited if I went to a Raw house show and the Rock shows up unannounced.

There's a difference between Rock and Austin. Rock is still with the company, and its expected he'll return someday. He didn't leave so much as get a second job that requires him to spend some time away. Austin, on the other hand, walked out, and got into legal troubles soon after. He might still technically be under contract, but some fences would have to be mended before he can come back. Basically, there's a lot more intrigue surrounding a *possible* Austin return as opposed to an *impending* Rock return.

High tide for the time being.

Well i don't know about everybody else but I didn't even know about this house show until you mentioned it. I guess I just don't have the connections the rest of you do.

Not only that, but working in the detailing shop. I can see him now, on his hands and knees trying to get that stubborn stain out of the floor board.
