My AC habits have devolved to the point where I'll play the whole week through in 1 - 2 hours on a Friday night (I wonder if my townsfolk notice I always show up exactly 24 hours after I left the day before?) Anyway, on Wednesday of this week (the 15th), I happen past the town center, and the Mayor is there, and he tells me that he's going on vacation, and asks me if I'll turn the lighthouse on for him every night between 6 and 10, and says that if I do it, me (and anyone who I get to help me), will all get a prize when he comes back from vacation on the 23rd. So at a little after 6 on the 16th and the 17th, I've turned on the lighthouse. So not only am I wondering what I might get, I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Just when I was getting completely bored with the game, it goes and surprises me with a little something like this.

High tide for the time being.

I got that. I wonder if you can actually get someone else to help? And if so, how???

Have the other person who plays on your memory card to turn the lighthouse on for you.

Happened to me, too ... You'll probably just end up getting a model of the lighthouse (like the model of Katrina's Tent that the mayor gives you at Halloween); although I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised by something slightly better

There are other models to get, as well. There's an Igloo model (get from a townsperson in an igloo), there's a Post Office model (deposit 999,999 bells), a Police Station model (get on Officer's Day, or something like that), Train Car model, as well as grass & dirt models (buy from Nook).

It looks to me that you can build a miniature model of your town after you get all the pieces.

I was right ... It was a model of the lighthouse.

    Oh well ...

The model actually works, too. Turn it on, and a little light beam sweeps out.

In addition to the models I listed a few posts ago, I had also received the Redd's Market model, and the Train Track model. Also got the Snow Covered Tree model while visiting one of the igloos (same day I got the Lighthouse Model).

Hey now, didn't notice that ... I'll have to try it out this afternoon.

I've said before (The W) that I don't think online gaming is all that important to the current crop of console's sales. Here (gamesarefun.com) is an editorial that agrees with me.
