| #1 Posted on 20.8.03 1835.13 | Instant Rating: 6.28 | The odds for the California Guv's race are all over the place, and changing daily. The right combo of bets could produce a sure-thing profit. In fact, a lot of places have stopped taking them
Warning: I think some of these are frames (or you other wise might have to do a little searching), and unless you like to hit the tracks with your boss during happy hour, I wouldn't recommend these for the workplace.

I saw McClintock at 40-1 somewhere, and am kicking myself for not throwing ten bucks down on him.

Geez, give ME the ten bucks.
Although...maybe THIS could be a way for California to balance the budget! A few strategic bets here and there and the coffers could be replenished. ;-)

Geez, I can almost excuse Moe for his ignorance because he's nowhere NEAR California, but Michrome...I really thought you'd know better.
IF Simon drops (highly unlikely) AND all his support decides to go to McClintock (also unlikely), they STILL wouldn't be able to BEAT Schwarzenegger. Best case is they make it a close race, but they can't get more.
Check the PDF of the Field poll (field.com) (or Google's HTML version (216.239.37.104) - now granted, these numbers are almost a week old (so hopefully we'll get something new...tomorrow?) but this is clearly a two person race and that's how the media is going to cover it. Supporting any other candidate to win is throwing your money away. Even *Davis* is a losing proposition - I won't say "sure thing" yet but I AM sure enough that I have no problems publicly saying I'll miss ol' Fuzzy for the two weeks after the election. ;-)
The numbers just don't work. I know after 2000 we're all supposed to be suspicious about polls and all, but we're way past the margin of error here.

| #6 Posted on 22.8.03 0605.26 | Instant Rating: 7.29 | Another new poll(as reporterd by the press, without numbers) has Arnie up 23-18. Unfortunately this looks like an AP story without as much as the margin of error in the story. Be nice to see the real numbers.
On a different note, this pic cracks me up.

"Each time I've met Huffington, I wondered if she was not somehow the long-lost daughter of Madame Nicolai Ceaucescu, or a genetic cross between Martha Stewart and Count Dracula. Had this Greek-born harpy lived in medieval times, she would have been sewn up in a bag with a rooster and two snakes and thrown into the nearest river." -- Eric Margolis, Toronto Star | CRZ

Well, I'm wrong again. Click Here (ktvu.com)
McClintock, however, said he would accept Schwarzenegger's endorsement in the Oct. 7 election.
"If the most qualified candidate must defer every time a celebrity or a millionaire casts a longing eye on public office, well then we've lost something very important in our democracy, and it's called merit," McClintock told CNN.
Geez, especially clueful AND helpful.

| #8 Posted on 23.8.03 1412.52 | Grimis, I love your sig. Huffington is crazy but she reminds me of this hot Greek chick at my work, so she can't be all that bad (right?).
I agree that this may be a hard bet to make. Right now I don't see how Arnold could lose, but if whatever Republican base that might exist out here decides to rally around someone else, it could make things interesting. But then again you will probably have a lot of Democratic voters going for Arnold. Who knows? All I know is that I'm glad I registered.
