Went to the television taping tonight, which had a lot of technical glitches due to camera-problems (but Cornette seemed in very good humor about it). A couple had just gotten married and attended the show after their wedding ceremony still in their wedding outfits. Something you don't see every day.

Matches were a bit bland this week, as it was a taping that took place before the Six Flags show this Friday, but won't be airing until Saturday. Thus, there isn't much you want to give away three days ahead of time. Ironically, one of the best matches of the night was a dark match between Joey Matthews and a new guy named Elijah Burcks. Nicely done, especially as it was a match that wasn't going to appear on television. (Sometimes you can tell the guys aren't quite trying as hard when they know they aren't going to make the television show.)

Alexis Laree had another match against Passion tonight. Laree also came out into the crowd during a break to get donations for the OVW's local charity.

Another good match for the night was Johnny Nitro vs. Matt Cappotelli. Continuing the feud between them from earlier in the year finally. Just as well, as Matt is probably going up to WWE soon, while John is already there, so best to get the feud finished before that occurs for good.

Speaking of a John in WWE, Big Bad John (aka John Heidenreich) returned to OVW, after making a run-in appearance last week at the show. He will be working with Seth Skyfire and Mac Johnson, and they all did a promo in-ring during the show tonight.

Carly Colon was in a six-men tag-team event near the beginning of the show and is starting to look more and more like a lost Osbournes kid.

Finally, it was mentioned again that Chris Benoit will be taking part in the main event at Six Flags in Louisville this Friday (May 21). He will be wrestling against Matt Morgan. There is also a meet-&-greet for fan-club members with Benoit before the show. You have to pay to get into Six Flags (although if you have a Six Flags pass for any of their parks, you can use them at the Louisville one as well), but the show itself is free once you're in the park. The show is supposed to start at 7:30.

Also announced tonight is that Mick Foley will be the special guest for the Six Flags show in two weeks (June 4). No mention of a meet-&-greet there, but it'll probably happen, as Mick has done them at the earlier Six Flags shows he has attended for OVW.

Over all, nothing really earth-shattering here, but thought some of you might be interested.

Could Matt Morgan facing Benoit be viewed as a signal that he will be heading north again soon (soon meaning mid-July)should he not completely humiliate himself against Benoit?

How has Alexis Laree been doing in OVW? I really haven't heard anything either way since they signed her but I enjoyed her in TNA because she was bumping like crazy and hitting all her stuff really well.

Well, Alexis has appeared in a few matches now in OVW, usually working against Passion (in fact, if there is a women match during the show, you can expect it to feature Passion, Alexis, Jillian Hall, or a combination of all three).

Her fashion sense has certainly headed into Victoria country recently, but that doesn't answer your question, Scott. I would say that she's is looking good in the ring and certainly has the moves on her to advance pretty quickly. On the "bumping like crazy" side, I can't recall her really doing anything that sticks in my memory.

I think part of the reason is that a lot of the other women beyond Passion are still early in their training and so the matches tend to be slower if they're spotlighted in a match. In fact, I recall a match a few weeks ago that seemed as if every woman in the ring was moving in slow motion, with opponents reacting to kicks and punches about a half-second before such moves have reached a point of looking like they would connect. So if Alexis is in a match with anyone other than Passion, she has to slow down a bit to make it work. That keeps the move-set pretty traditional.

Speaking of women in OVW, I haven't seen Linda Miles at a show in about six weeks now. They were doing a program with her that had her wrestling Chris Kay (yes, the OVW ref that appeared on RAW) and then she pretty much vanished. Don't know what is up there.

Is the Benoit/Morgan match at Six Flags a World Heavyweight Title defense for Benoit? I mean, obviously if it is, Benoit will retain, but suckas gots to know.

According to the news section OVW website at (surprise!) http://www.ovwrestling.com/ it will be a non-title match-up. I wonder how many extra seats will be filled as a result of Benoit's appearance at Six Flags?

Just to add to what Snookum posted...

Passion actually worked with Jillian Hall last night, not Alexis (although Alexis did come out to collect money for the charity).

Linda Miles wrestled Elijah Burke a couple of weeks ago and lost. She was upset and Cornette said she had lost three matches in a row to men and she stormed out, so I don't know what the story is there.

The matches last night weren't bad (but not great as Snookum said), but the technical stuff killed it for me. We left right before the main event because I couldn't sit through another 10 minute glitch. Even without the camera problems they had last night, I think they kill the crowd with the long pauses between matches.

I think OVW is in a rough spot right now sending a lot of the guys up and having others out injured, they are having to spend a lot of time building new guys up, which in the long run is good, but sometimes painful to watch.

Anyone know what is up with Mark Magnus? Seems when Nikita left he came out and said it was his fault and that he was leaving and hasn't been around since.

Whoops! Sorry about the Alexis/Jillian mix-up, folks! I saw Passion come out, but then I had to head off to the car for a few minutes and missed Jillian's entrance. I didn't get back to my seat until the beginning of the six-men tag-team match, so I went by what someone else told me.

Funny you should mention leaving before the main event, Livedog, as we did pretty much the same . . . and for the same reason. It's not a weekly problem for them, but it seems like once evern 6-8 weeks they run into technical problems like that.

I'm curious about Magnus as well. His exit didn't seem to be final when he left. Maybe he had to take time off for personal reasons and will be back. Hope so, as I thought he was really starting to look good in the ring (even if he did look like Rich Vos).

The dream is over. The magic is gone. Raw was technically better than SmackDown. A few weeks ago, I mentioned my theory that Rey Misterio Jr. was the true heart of SmackDown and the catalyst for its incredible turn around into the show not to be missed....
